Best solution, they have better assets than police or veterans. Obviously the amount of troops depends on size of the school but states can activate soldiers from their national guards for full time status as guards, preferably 11Bs.

Or just let citizens who are already equipped and authorized to carry a weapon everywhere else continue to do so on a school campus. You would immediately have a better chance of stopping a mass shooting without any additional cost.

Besides a massive violation of posse commitatus what else could go wrong having federal military run state and local schools?

No. Police officers. 1 for every high school. It shouldn't be too expensive and on the local level.

Our local parish library has a sheriff’s deputy on duty at all times, we never have any kind of BS going on there.

Cops are better suited to be school guards than soldiers because of differing types of training.

Why aren't we moving away from brick and mortar schools toward virtual classrooms anyway?

The safety and cost effectiveness would be greatly increased.

The best teachers could reach a thousand kids instead of just a hundred.
Kids from poor districts could be taught the best of the rich districts.

Violation of the PCA, Title 10 military cannot be used to perform direct law enforcement activities except under very strict conditions.

First off, posse commitatus only applies to law enforcement. You must have missed the part where I said national guard. I know for a fact national guard are capable of being used as guards because many places in New York City (such as Penn Station and Grand Central), you will see army and air force national guard soldiers walking around in IOTV vests and side arms.

Federal military? It’s the national guard.... it’s the state militia. Jesus Christ

They aren’t law enforcement. They’re armed guards. Not relevant.
