St. Tammany coroner to ‘reconsider’ sexual assault nurse program after lawsuit filed

Seems Coroner Tape's office administers the program over 5 parishes, and the other 4 aren't paying their fair share.
It sounds like Trump's issue with NATO. If you want the benefits of the program then pay up. It isnt fair to taxpayers of St. Tammany to foot the bill of the other 4 parishes.

Despite those issues and my remaining concerns, I have heard you,” Tape said. “I’m willing to re-launch the program for a trial period while allowing the other parishes and agencies involved to develop alternative plans, or for us all to come to the table and work out an equitable funding solution.”

I thought it was proven that it was actually federal grant money that pays for all of it?
Tape seems like a piece of work, and considering some of the other elected officials that St Tammany has had in recent years, that's truly saying something.
Actually looks like it pays most but not all:
So if there is some additional money needed, all five parishes should put up on a pro-rata basis.

The SANE program is largely funded through state and federal grants, according to former St. Tammany Coroner Charles Preston. In a press conference earlier this week, Tape said that he did not fully understand the finances of the SANE program.

Preston indicated that, last year, the program cost St. Tammany's taxpayers a total around $70,000 that wasn't covered by grants or other funds. This year, however, the coroner got additional grant funding and he expects SANE to have a $22,000 surplus.
So if there is some additional money needed, all five parishes should put up on a pro-rata basis.

Isn’t the dude a pedo rapist?

No convictions. So the answer is no

Beyond the extracurricular stuff, I know Tape to be a fairly incompetent pathologist, too.
The sooner he’s out of public office the better.

So basically they’re ok with refusing to collect forensic evidence that will be used to prosecute the rapist at trial?
More rapists on the street doesn’t sound good to me

so it's a matter of records & tape's

Just because he wasn’t convicted doesn’t mean he isn’t a pedo rapist. I think he got off on a a technicality. Something about the trial not being expedient enough of something like that.

Pervert fits in well with the rest of the criminal politicians

So why didn't the DA go to trial in a timely manner? Was there solid evidence of a crime, or not? He was charged with a crime, but the DA did nothing else with the case.

He qualified without opposition because the embattled incumbent decided not to run. Months later, the information came out about his (alleged) past transgressions.
