Spent part of my childhood in St. Lucia....good times.
The wife and I spent our honeymoon there this summer. Good times, indeed

I'm guessing neither of you realize the guy who died in Dallas the other day would have passed right through these screenings they are doing at those 4 airports had they actually been doing screenings when he came through.
There is only one full proof method of ensuring a virus like Ebola does not spread, that's through isolation of those who carry the virus. Screening at airports will not work. The only way to stop it is to isolate those areas where it's currently being seen.
that is the thing, you can't isolate it. Liberia has incredibly porous borders, as does all of africa. they can just leave liberia and go to mali or ghana. then come here, which is probably what they want to do anyway since there is almost no plane flights in and out of liberia at the moment.
But you can screen, and I think screening would involve things like - where have you been? does anyon eyou know has ebola? stuff like that.
I mean, fine ban entry from those countries but its not going to do shite IMHO

This thing kills between 50-70% of everyone who gets it. If necessary shut down entry into the US for anyone traveling from anywhere in Africa for commercial or private reasons. The only travel between here and there should be restricted to only medical personel for the purpose of fighting this virus. And anytime one of these people return, they are quarantined in an isolated camp for a minimum of something like 45 days.
All of that is very doable.

I'm amused by the inclusion of Senegal on this shitlist. They had one case in August and no secondary infections. They'll be past the double-incubation window as of tomorrow.
You're more likely to get Ebola here than in Senegal.

That's just it, it'll get you when you least expect it so we have to put Senegal under double secret probation
(I actually wasn't aware of this until you said it FWIW)

Insurance companies love this kind of risk management. No claims=savings.
