The new gas cans suck. Whatever dumbass liberal from California decided that the old ones, for some reason, needed to be updated to keep us all "safer" needs to be put on a raft in the middle of Pacific ocean made out of the new gas cans.
That is all.
That is all.

Thread of the year.
Seriously, what a great example of nanny state over reach. I drive a screw through the base of the nozzle on mine.

They are one of the dumber things I’ve ever encountered. So par for the course for progressive “thought,” in other words.

If you kill yourself with a gas can maybe it was your time.

Agreed. How is it safer if i end up with gas all over my hands?

everyone will have to agree to disagree that everyone will agree

I've already ordered one. BUT I SHOULDN'T HAVE HAD TO.
I mean.. who decides that it's a good idea to not put a vent into something you pour? Sometime in the future, long after we are all dead, somebody is going to make bunches of money inventing a gas can with a vent.

Fortunately I have no idea what you're talking about
I have 0 use for a gas can in my life currently

You will never make it in the zombie apocalypse.

I DO agree with that one.
I have spilled far more gasoline with these spring-loaded spouts than I ever did with the old ones. And I feel like it takes three hands to do even that.

That's why I use one of these...

If you were to ask me about the single angriest moment I've had in recent memory right this very moment, my response without hesitation would revolve around one of those stupid arse locking gas cans. What an infuriating and mindless design failure some jackass that's never operated a gas can approved for sale.
Not only does half of your fuel leak out onto your hands, pants, shoes, and dead homies, but when you DO finally manage to unhinge your fingers and get a death grip on the spout to keep it open while somehow tilting the can it takes roughly 10 hours of standing in a special yoga pose known as 'man-car relations' to actually trickle out in it's entirety.

I think a lot of TD posters must be those people you see on the sidewalks holding a gas can and giving a sob story about their mother in law who has diabeetus real bad and was just admitted to the hospital the next town over.
Or they all have broken gas gauges leaving them stranded and requiring the use of gas cans to get them going.
Or they have lawns they have to mow and weed eat, not everyone is blessed with xeriscaped property.

I agree. I thank my lucky stars my old man liberated two of the good ol metal ones from the National Guard back in the 70's.
