Until a couple of weeks ago, I was thinking the country just has a fever and needs to sweat it out/sleep it off.
Every new story just pushes me more in the direction of - the country has suffered a (likely drug-induced, so thanks libertarians) schizophrenic or some other sort of psychotic break.
And I have no idea how we come out of this - a fever passes, but brain damage just sort of falls into the category of brain damage. May be irreversible.
(ETA: Just as an aside, don't most yellow fixed traffic signs have black stick figures? FFS, what kind of racist bullshite is THAT? Only black people have to walk?
)

Yeah that statement from the article is idiotic.
George Floyd was killed on May 25th.
California issued the first statewide stay-at-home order on March 19th.

I read three paragraphs and that was too many. I like how HE capitalizes the "w" on white. As if the mom was actually telling her daughter to wait for the little caucasian man on the signal. Nevermind that the lights are literally white for contrast.
