I think this likely coincides with the leftist movement of shaming people (usually straight men) who have no interest in dating a transgender.
I've noticed shows ("Eurphoria" on HBO, for starters) and music acts really pushing trans characters and making them as appealing as possible to audiences.

Idiot use that fallacy inappropriately, it’s only applicable when confronting Irrational or illogical proclamations that one poor action will lead to increasingly poorer action.
