A believer! I've known he's been saying it, but it doesn't make it so. They aren't going to cut a check, and any tariff results in retaliation and a trade war which probably cost us many times what the wall would have.

There once was a time when conservatives didn't trust the government when it said it would give them something for free.

What will happen is construction will begin and be highly publicized long enough for every Trumptard to jizz himself dry and then the easily herded will have their attention diverted elsewhere while construction grinds to a halt after a few miles.

That's just how government and propaganda works (hand-in-hand).

I predict that in a few months, these idiot smug communist pseudo-intellectuals will reason their way into eating their own shite, then proceed to claim some sort of intellectual superiority, and moral high ground for doing so.

These people never cease to blow my mind.

You have absolutely zero clue how it works.

You can call me a true believer if you want. Doesn't hurt me. I will gain some ridicule around here...but I was elected to be a delegate for Kasich in the primary if he had enough votes to have even one delegate in my state. He didn't win enough for me to get to go to the convention. I do realize that Trump seems to do what he says he will do. The plan has been up for months. Your speculation seems to be more unlikely than trump following through on his plan.

If you actually read his plan you would know they don't need to cut a check. You continue to claim some sort of superior knowledge...but are clearly ignorant to the actual plan.

Don't worry, it'll be the Democrats' fault that it didn't get built.

The wall is going to cost 10 billion dollars. Illegals directly dump $25 billion dollars per year out of the us economy, plus the cost taxpayers on average $14000 more per year per person than they pay in any kind of taxes, through government services at local, state, and federal levels and the cost burden they place on the health care system. We have the power to completely stop remittances to Mexico, which is their largest single source of foreign income (larger than oil exports). We are also their largest export market. We have the leverage to put the screws to them to a disastrous degree while only suffering slightly and temporarily ourselves. One way or another w can make them pay for it, even if it's just putting a 50% tax on wires or money orders to mexico

Good, we both agree the wall is unnecessary.

As the previous poster said, your baseless speculation is a lot more unlikely to be proven correct than Trump actually following through.

Your white guilt will be at an all time high when the wall is completed.

I'm aware, I never said they'd cut a check. I never said Trump said they'd cut a check. We all know they won't.

If we try to extract a refund through tariffs they'll simply retaliate and a US/Mexico trade war ensues. This ultimately costs more than simply paying the tab, but I guess we need to save face. And worse yet when tariffs arbitrarily start being thrown up (and they will be) the economic damage is spread evenly across all taxpayers, certain pockets get hit with it based on whatever the tariff is on.

Never believe the federal government when they say they have this cool trick where you don't have to pay for something. That's something the left bites to justify unsustainable social programs. You agree?

You assume Mexico has ANY leverage in trade negotiations.

And yes. I agree with you. The left ha duped several republican Presidents with promises of future cuts. Still...I have not seen a politician like trump before. Preponderance points to him doing what he says he willl do. If I'm proven wrong...so be it. I will eat crow.

You said there would be a trade war. What is Mexico's leverage in a trade war? I ask honestly because I have not researched the issue. Is there something we need from Mexico that would give them leverage against the United States?

I'm open to changing my stance on this. As I am admittedly not well versed outside of reading Trumps plan.

No offense, but you are retarded. The Great Wall was built on top of a range of mountains without even a fraction of the modern technology that we have today.

And you seriously think a wall can't be built along the Rio Grande?

Show me where I said a wall "can't" be built today.

"Getting the wall" was the key = 'making mexico pay for it was a throwaway line'

and it doesn't have to be a brick and mortar wall = anything that stops the flow represents a 'wall'
