Desire and afford are two different things.
No kidding. The day I graduated and started drawing a paycheck I desired a nice waterfront house. I bought a home I could afford and it took 20 years to get what I "desired".

Imagine thinking “desire” is your top priority when you don’t have a pot to piss in.

Yeah but theyre all shitholes apparently because you have to replace the carpet or some shite

quote:Who knows. Thing is, if you can't find what you want where you want to be you can do without what you want or you can look for it in another location.
Are these areas that 22yr olds making 70k desire?
quote:They can get this by renting. My idea is buy something, improve it and in a few years upgrade to another home that ain't perfect but you can improve. Along the way, you learn valuable skills.
Or families that are just trying to get a roof over their head?
quote:I've often lived in places where I didn't want to live for the benefit of my future.
Some of those lubbock places look nice but the area is like my worst nightmare

quote:sounds like you're not willing to look or try to find a way to reach your goals. You want it delivered to you on a silver platter. Therefore, you probably need to rent for the rest of your life because nothing will ever be good enough and you're too lazy to try and fix it.
You can't link one that's not a shithole, and all of these towns are shitholes to begin with, hence the cheap real estate.

Oh MY! Poor scotty! Poor baby! Scotty-doesnt-know how to financially plan, and can't figure it out, because figuring is really, really hard.
Yall are like women. Every guy that rejects is a "fat broke loser with small peen"
If imagining me being a a broke loser who has never owned a house brings you satisfaction, NCTiger...go ahead.
I dont know why yall just cant admit
-you grew up in good times
-your generation made some bad mistakes
You can throw out all the insults you want to. It doesnt change the fact that your generation was bailed out by the government multiple times. Yall were the weak men that ushered in the hard times

You think that bothers me? I don’t give a shite. I’ll actually retire in my 50s while Gen z bros will work until they’re 80.

Wichita Falls -- 80 homes Midland -- 32 homes Odessa -- 38 homes Lubbock -- 187 homes
And then when you move to Odessa, you realize that the job that allowed you to save for a house doesnt exist there. The jobs that do exist there dont pay well enough for even a 150k house

No you sound like a tard regardless

Your insult game is on par with your ability to live within your means.

We should have let your bank fail and your 401k crash in 2007. We should have told Boomers to stay inside during covid while the rest of us carried on with life. Its funny how Boomers are all for other generations taking responsibility...but when hard times came for them, they asked for a bailout
To the folks saying "well no sense whining, gotta deal with it" ...I agree. That said, dealing with it will involve corrections to the market. It will involve upsetting the status quo, it may involve Boomers and Xers having their retirement taking a hit. If you got rich in an artificial economy, you are subject to pain when it fails

My small child makes an allowance and is smart enough to know he can’t buy more than the amount of money he has.
Would you like him to teach you?

Congrats you seem like a person who would live in the house you linked

It does if you have a triple digit IQ.
Guess you’re excluded.

Anyone who would link a house like you did and argue its not a shithole has a negative triple digit iq

quote:Not a dreaded "boomer" here, but everyone should have carried on with their life. Trump said, "Protect the old and sick. Let everyone else get it and get over it". He was exactly right. Did you vote against him in 2020? If you did, part of the blame for your problems lies with you.
We should have told Boomers to stay inside during covid while the rest of us carried on with life.
quote:Who's we? You got a mouse in your pocket?
We should have let your bank fail and your 401k crash in 2007.
quote:Please explain this. Boomers had it much worse in the 70's and 80's financially. They were just not as entitled as you seem to think you are.
Its funny how Boomers are all for other generations taking responsibility
quote:Seems you are asking for a bailout now, since you can't get the home you want, in the location you want, at the price you can afford and perfect so you don't have to fix anything. Ever hear the story of the Pot and the Kettle?
but when hard times came for them, they asked for a bailout
