So you don't understand that there are thousands of eateries in this country that are basically shutdown or only doing pick up business, which is only about 10% of their gross business?

I'm not surprised.

IB, you defend China all the time because your shitty company depends on Chinese steel and money is your god. What makes it detestable is you constantly dress it as “defending the american citizen!” in some sort of warped virtue signal.

You and our political and economic elite’s service to mammon has completely hollowed out Middle America by replacing $60k factory jobs with $20k service jobs and making the entire country's supply lines tremendously vulnerable to catastrophe. You claim this is worth it because Americans can save a dime on a case of beer because the aluminum came from an Asian slave pit.

Having our critical supply lines dependent on communist China is an absolute disaster. Anyone that was ever on the fence can see that now with this plague brought upon us by your chink overlords. You say you never defend them, but you shite up this topic to shamelessly defend their disgusting wet markets of all things.

People like you are traitors to America and in a just world you would be the first to hang.

Lets assume you're correct. Tariffs cause price of said good to incease.

Now at new tariff price of said good could be made in the good ole US of A at the same price or cheaper and create jobs here . What say you chinaman?

Plus in times like we are in at the moment we wouldn't be wondering where we are gonna get our shite from. Medicine ring a bell? But some people are to dense to understand

An American with a good job vs exporting his job to a communist country that can do it for a few pennies less because of their human-rights abuses and lax environmental laws. Also we get to depend on that country for our plague medicine API’s.

Well, then I guess not much other than that

That is BS. The USA in December had the highest average wages ever in real terms and in nominal terms. We also had the most people employed too.

You claim this is worth it because Americans can save a dime on a case of beer because the aluminum came from an Asian slave pit.

This is so stupid I should not respond but I will just to see if you can even comprehend something so simple.

If we as a society spend less on the case of beer you mention are we not free to spend more on higher value products? A dime a case more on ventilators or super computers or air conditioning or better cars? Is our standard of living not improved? Do you want to take capital out of the company to pay more for simple commodities like aluminum instead of investing in the advancement of society?

Having supply lines that have to move to China because of government regulation and government imposed cost on production and profits in the USA is an absolute disaster that we fail to acknowledge.

You say you never defend them, but you shite up this topic to shamelessly defend their disgusting wet markets of all things.
I am simply telling you in that thread that the people there prefer to shop in those places. That is a fact and is no defense of China. Do you not believe that?

quote:

People like you are traitors to America and in a just world you would be the first to hang.

Screw you.

I am the one advocating for Americans. You are simply bitching and whining looking for someone to blame for your every inconvenience.

Rest assured if you EVER get the courage and the ambition to own your own business nobody here will be for keeping the government out of your business than will I.

Nonetheless it is a disruption in supply. Why do you argue with such little ability?

It would be an incredibly stupid act to let politicians make decisions on who owns what.

Do you want some political group to take your property???

Stupid. Idiotic. Foolish.

Yes I understand that and I understand eggs are $4 a dozen now and are often out of stock at my store. Explain that.

I say you are naive as hell.

The steelmakers are not making a lot more steel than they were when Ross got his protectionist tariffs passed. They simply went up on price to world prices plus 25% and used the difference to buy back stock (at least in the case of USX).

Today steel is cheap but Americans still pay more for steel than do Mexicans. American companies seeking to sell their products containing steel on world markets are at a distinct disadvantage.

May be over your head.

Since when is this the question? Quit falsely equating businesses owned by the Chinese Communist Party with the general public. Our system, like any other, can be and is manipulated by bad actors. Sticking to black and white does not work when the object of the policy is a foreign state with zero incentives to lawfully abide by US law.

It would be an incredible stupid act to let politicians make decisions on who owns what.

What does that even mean? Every determination that has ever been made regarding anything of substance in the entire modern history of the world has been made by politicians.

So I am commie because I want the private property of companies in America protected from the dangers of big government ownership??? Got it. You want us to be more like the Chinese of the sixties and are calling me a commie.

Did you go to public schools?? Serious question.

I want to know how any red bloodied American could advocate for such big government insanity.

I never used the word communism, socialism, or any related term in this thread, and did not refer to you as either.

I live in South Louisiana and was born after 1980, so absolutely not

I haven’t advocated for anything.

Since you want the government to have power to seize private property.

Why are having a problem understanding that?

I tell you what you can start a country where Trump is the lord of all the land and you can beg him to be a surf of certain privilege.

We started an entire country over property and political power.

Anyone that wants politicians to have more power are NUTS. CRAZY. STUPiD.

You should not be allowed to vote.

I’m waiting on you to quote my post in this thread where I called for that.

I wouldn’t waste your breath. He will read into things that are not there with what you say and will deny what he has plainly implied. It is a very feminine way of arguing.
