That is the setup I have. Another individual handles majority of customer correspondence unless I can more quickly convey a technical problem. He also handles management of the rest of the project group and meets with me to discuss. I do a lot of modeling, material take offs, shop walk throughs because I can spot problems instantly, etc., I do a lot of different things. I do work with other people, I just have defacto autonomy because I rarely have to take orders because I know what to do on my own.

I do understand how to fake it, I’m not at all perplexed about why things are the way they are, I just have determined it’s not worth it to me to have increased income if I have to do something that makes my skin crawl.

I’m aware and have been taken advantage of before. Luckily my employer is a smaller company, and I have a great relationship with the owner who is kind of off in many of the same ways I am. He understands me unlike just about anyone else and creates an environment I can thrive in and keeps his hands off. I am grateful for what I have.

My BIL died a week ago at age 77. He had an IQ of 147. He was very intelligent but not much common sense. He was a big personality, great sense of humor, had a great memory…. but had no business sense. He taught high school psychology and science, and coached football and basketball for 35 years. When he died he had horrendous credit. So, he was intelligent but not smart. Great guy though.

That said, I’m going to guess the median around that 90 mark.

Without knowing exactly what you mean, sometimes with these types it’s either autistically not understanding how polite society functions, or having contempt for it and refusal to go along with it. Doesn’t necessarily mean they are wrong, it’s just not something that would function well if it were openly permitted en masse.
Bobby Fischer is another example.

The problem is none of us are smart enough to determine this.
I don’t think it can be disputed that he is extremely intelligent. The tests he took couldn’t be faked. There are arguments regarding whether he took the Mega test twice or not and how that potentially impacts the scoring, but even with that argument he scored extremely high.
