Yeah, they used the same approach last night when addressing Obama. Eva Longoria said that "tonight he is Michelle's husband" or something like that.

He says Jill.

He's just not an articulate, well-spoken white guy.

Listened to it three times. He kind of slurs his words a bit, and then clears his throat afterwards, so what I think happened is he was thinking of saying reflexively “hi I’m Joe Biden“ but was also trying to introduce his wife at the same time with “ Hi, I’m Jill Biden’s husband “ .

Many people when trying to compose a sentence or a thought on the fly will transpose several ideas into one sentence and it come out sounding like that. You can say “Jill “ really fast and kind of under your breath and it come out sounding like Joe, but I really think he mentally crossed wires again & it came out like it did.
