I take it you're unfamiliar with californias civil service system.

I am glad I am retired and no longer live in the area.
Wait until the mud slides come in the spring.

will say that I have seen WAY more deer hit by cars because of it, and the other day I saw a dead bear by the side of the road. I literally did a double take on that - the bears, at least, never venture anywhere near the cities in this area.

I’d imagine someone saw a very large spider. Response justified.

Agreed. Decades of fire science and government "fire fighting" has us where we are today. Just cut their asses and let the professionals handle it.

In 2-4 hours the winds will really pick up here. For those in Louisiana, picture a tropical storm or Category 1 wind event minus the rain.

We've been lucky that since about 10:00am the winds have been calm.

Most people don’t understand yet how bad the situation is in California. They have zero containment and winds out of Santa Anna are going to be there worse tonight. You are going to see gusts in the 40-70 mph range.
Has HHM, stout and L.A. checked in TD today?

And I truly am not trying to be insensitve or cruel but it seems like Ca. is on the news a lot with this. I have heard past fires were arson. Is it always arson or the Santa Anna winds or something?

Years ago when they did controlled burns every few years it seemed like we had fewer of these types of fires.
