When do we start the countdown threads about about days without a budget and kicking the can down the road like we used to have?

Start one.

I'm tired of it but it's being used by both sides at this point as leverage for what they want. Vote on a damn budget and lets move on.

House Dem leadership sent out an email urging members to vote against the CR. On the Senate side, Schumer is in a tough spot. Progressives are demanding another shutdown, he got absolutely nothing that was demanded as part of his "deal" to reopen the government, and he has gone on record a couple of times claiming the he would shut it down again if the Rs didn't hold their end of the bargain.

The House passing the CR was never in question.

The Senate on the other hand...

I'm surprised Schumer isn't in front of the cameras already.

Yea, the House Dem maneuver was just for show. The Rs will need 9 crossovers to pass this CR before funding runs out Thursday night. Schumer has been pretty low key the last few days and may decide to memory hole all his bluster, let DACA die, and pass the CR.

He has no play here. Americans are squarely on the side of Trump on securing the border, ending chain migration, ending the visa lottery, and DACA being the one they care the least about. Literally what Trump offer the first time was more than generous, even with some in Trump's own party a hard no on amnesty.

Honestly what Schumer needs to do is try to get infrastructure tied with it, and then get all 1.8 DACA full amnesty.

It'll be the only way Trump will be pressured to actually make concessions because it'll be two phases of exactly what he wants, and their would be no way around Trump not looking bad if it failed. The Dems own the DACA thing, and it doesn't look good on them. Trump can kick DACA down the road if he really needs to, and go nuclear and only get the three pillars done.

Schumer has no easy option here. He can't just keep saying, "RACIST, RACIST, RACIST!"

That could be political suicide for him with this admin and DACA's end drawing closer and closer and this CR going weeks past the DACA deadline.
