I think so as well. He does not even know why it was such a poor attempt.

You think this is some sort of gotcha? DEPORT EVERYONE WHO IS NOT HERE LEGALLY. Period.

The prosecutor will have to prove mens rea existed.

Although I have never prosecuted or defended a voter fraud case, it seems that the element of the offense should be satisfied with his voter registration form, where he presumably checked yes to question number 1.

But we're into the legal weeds here.

Instead, the big picture: trump said he wanted to go after the worst of the worst. Is that what is happening here? Should this guy be prosecuted? Should this guy be deported? Is that what you voted for?

No. He should have done what was needed to become a citizen long ago.

You think this is a federal case? Trump has absolutely zero to do with this prosecution and doesn’t have the power to pardon. I thought you were a lawyer?

Following the law isn't exclusive to left or right.

Ergo, follow the law.

trump has stressed that voter fraud is happening in America and which can turn election results. This is the proof he is talking about and should be brought to our attention because he was right for a change.

It’s a terrible thing to happen for this guy, just like what is happening to many more like him, but all have to be treated the same no matter what if this is the route this administration demands to take. Damn shame.

That isn’t why the OP started the thread. He thought Trump had the power to pardon this dude.
