19th Amendment

Ahh … the PT board’s favorite topic.

So help me understand.

I own property—to include a ranch I physically maintain by my own blood, sweat, and treasure; abide by all laws (have never been saddled with as much as a parking ticket); actively and respectfully practice my faith; pay all taxes I owe; volunteer at more so-called conservative events than most men have ever stepped foot into; vote in all elections at every level; earned and graduated with a PhD; am a card carrying member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (my family has died in droves for the US since its inception); never forget to show my appreciation on holidays to those who collect my trash and deliver my mail; diligently and safely own and maintain firearms (I’m a decent shot); voraciously study and honor this country’s history; serve on jury duty whenever called; respect the opinions (by my actions, anyway) of others; remain informed of the social and political issues of the day; and take responsibility for my actions.

Yet these patriots (below) ought to be able to vote—and I shouldn’t—because I was born with a uterus?

Good stuff.

No. Signing up for conscription should not be a requirement to vote. However, I think you should be a property owner/tax-paying citizen in order to vote. If you haven't anted anything into the pot you shouldn't get to play the hand.

If I were running things, you and your uterus meet all the qualifications in order to vote.

But only 1 vote.

Women now outnumber the amount of men who vote and legally do not have to sign up for conscription.

I believe women should also be required to sign up. The very first year this went into effect was the year I turned 18. I thought it was so wrong to required my guy friends to do this and not me.

But you know this would be thrown out, right? Why waste time and money on something that wouldn't make it through the courts?

Of course.
I’d also add to your list of criteria that a person must not be in an incapacitated mental state (i.e., a coma).

Simple answer and solution : you cannot vote if you are receiving government benefits

Can quibble on the time etc but basically you don't get to vote to keep getting freebies from others

That would be every gov employee, everyone getting the GI Bill, Medicare, Medicaid, SS, food stamps, Section 8 housing, Obamacare subsidies, people doing research, and more. You would reduce the voting population to the very wealthy that never need help and never fight for the nation.

Even if everyone could afford to “own land” (which nobody can own land if you have to pay taxes on it - the government owns the land and you have rights to it), how do you expect people to buy land?

Also, from a logical perspective (in my opinion) conscription or defending one's land would have to be a precursor to someone actually "owning it."

Congress hasn’t declared war since December, 1941. They’ve abdicated that responsibility to the Executive Branch.

By 2030, 50% of 30 year old women will be single and childless. Currently, 70% of taken and MARRIED women, have a back up man that they talk to just in case. The feminism movement in America has led to hate between the sexes.

So, while the OPs message remains very unpopular, there are definite ramifications in our future at the rate we are going. Women need to do something to earn the "rights" that they have if millions or men can randomly be sent to their death for the same rights, or women should not be entitled to those rights on the same level, period.

I don’t happen to believe land ownership should a bellwether of a person’s ability to responsibly vote.

Many a frickstick owns property.
While that may be indicator of a person’s stake in that particular property—which could literally be 200 sq ft in some states—it’s not a necessarily valid measure of the quality of a person’s civic engagement.

That would be pretty stupid of them, considering they are disenfranchising themselves.

Every person who votes for a candidate who refuses to protect the border (i.e., most Dems) is disenfranchising him/herself.

When foreigners can legally vote, we’re done.

so my mom, who collects her ss and medicare benefits after a lifetime of paying taxes should NOT be allowed to vote? did you mean welfare?

No, I do not mean normal retirement/old age benefits. A bit more specific, if you collected any type of welfare/ medical or other benefit like food stamps etc (not old age SS or Medicare you qualified for at 65). Within the eligible voting period (4 yrs for president you cannot vote until completely off)

So basically you want to force people to have children whether they can afford it or not, and then strip them from benefits? Lol you are a fricking tool.
