I know a guy that's reserve deputy but used to be full time.
He said "everyone should be OK with flock cameras because they carry cellphones".
My response was "great are you OK with that data being open to the public so the police can be tracked too?" His response "well that's not the same."
The cops are OK with it as long as they are the only ones with access to the data.

Yep! My mom didn't wake up until he was on top of her. He left her tied up in her closet to die. She saw a pair of scissors and got to them somehow and cut herself out.

this is a broad question.. If the person(s) you are referring to are regular everyday folks who are NOT SPECIFIC targets of a criminal investigation the answer is hell no, and never.
If the person(s) are a target of a criminal investigation then that is an entirely different matter and there are rules that govern that.

Flock cameras..maybe a good idea in concept (concept) but too much abuse..there should be more restrictions into the more advanced law enforcement tools that the everyday cop has access to.. and this is a good example. There are databases that are heavily restricted (as they should be) and these cameras should be treated as such..

About 60-70% of what most cops do is unconstitutional. That number is much higher when they’re federal cops

People worried about Flock need to get rid of their smartphone immediately as it listens and tracks just about everything you do. Turning these features ‘off’ doesn’t completely disable them either.

You don't need a warrant to follow someone now. You have no expectation of privacy while out in public; surveillance is not considered a search under the 4th Amendment.
