i really hope this helps her. you have to think she knew what she was doing.

Well that's pretty awesome, you guys are now part of Louisiana political history, 7th graders will read of this for generations to come.

This keg stand business is retail politics. The crowd and kid wanted her to join in the fun. I wouldn't push this to hard if I was the GOP. Drinking is part of our culture in South Louisiana and Mary has been successful in bringing in votes out of Acadiana.
A hell of a lot better than slobbering all over babies.

I don't see why people are so angry over this. Someone showed me the picture, I laughed, no big deal. It's funny seeing a politician participate in lsu gameday shenanigans, republican or democrat, trying to get votes or not.

I'd also imagine ole Joe spent considerably more time in Delaware than Landrieu does in Louisiana.
True. He was on a first-name basis with the folks at his local Home Depot.

Glad you got a kick out of it. But I grew up there. Keg Stands are for amateurs. That's getting drunk, just for the sake of getting drunk.
It's like all of those idiotic tourists who go to NOLA and end up vomiting on Bourbon St.
And when a politician whose son got busted for a DUI and hitting someone, and blowing three times the legal limit, allows herself to be photographed as she did, I can see why you're nervous.

I really disagree with this. Keg stands are tons of fun - and there's usually somebody at a tailgate who's visiting (or somebody's parent or aunt) who has never done one before. I think Keg stands rank very high on the "drinking to have a blast" list.
I also think it would be an epic troll if Landrieu wins and then does a keg stand at a Saints tailgate in November or something to troll all the Republican bible thumper fuddy duddies.

I really don't see many people upset about it. Her office is just praying that MADD doesn't say anything about it.
She should just be glad that guy didn't get in a car, and hurt someone.

In an oratorical flourish Senator Mary Landrieu tells critics of keg stands.

No big deal either way. Humanizes her a little, but I still hope she goes down in flames on Election Night.
As cool as the keg stand was, it doesn't let me keep my health insurance after December 30.

Disagree. D's are just sanctimonious hypocrites on different issues. Like equal pay for women. Or transferring wealth from the poor to the rich (see QE, bailouts, individual mandate). Or global warming (Al Gore has the carbon footprint of a small country).

I think trying to make a story out of this weak sauce. Cassidy has run the most uninspiring campaign I've seen in recent memory. I kind of like seeing Landrieu out and about shaking it up with the patrons? The north Louisiana Protestant vote isn't going to her anyway.

Can someone give me some highlights to her atrocities as a politician? I am a college student that admits to knowing the full extent of her track record
I guess I am just surprised that a "red state" like Louisiana fails time after time to take her out of office. Being from Protestant North LA, I can already tell you she's probably never had that voter base. It just puzzles me that there can't be a big enough push in South LA too.
One of my dad's companies is invested heavily in natural gas, so one complaint is that she's not exactly capitalizing her energy committee position to the state's advantage.
