Seriously - what is the worst thing Russia did to "meddle in our election?"

I am confused - was anything done that really undermines the trust in the outcome?
All I have heard about is some ads on Facebook or Twitter - was their more nefarious manipulation of anything?
IF they did something to change results, or make access to the polls, that would be one thing that should be investigated and measures taken to mitigate it in the future.
But when you look at political ads in general - they are almost 99% misleading. How could some misleading ads tossed into that mess have any influence one way or another? UNLESS the 'normal' misleading was OVERWHELMED by foreign 'misleading' in favor of one side.
What am I missing??
SERIOUSLY want to know if I am off base -
i NEVER want to defend, let alone advocate, a false narrative.
educate me - I live to learn.
eta - prompted by watching Lindsey Graham on MTP adamantly concern himself with 'russian interference'

When you have a bunch of semiliterate people (potential Trumpkins) that want to believe outlandish shite, it's easy to see how they can be persuaded.

The exact same things that the USA has done to meddle in foreign elections for almost 100 years.

You were all going to vote for Hillary Clinton but then there were some Facebook ads and everyone knows you should form your foreign policy and immigration views from Facebook memes so everyone that was going to vote Hillary saw these memes and changed their vote. For example I was pro choice but then my Aunt Vivian posted a very interesting abortion meme which completely changed my position

I posed a serious question (for me) - wanting to LEARN something. I want to be absolutely certain I am not supporting a false narrative.
I don't even appreciate your participation in this thread - I have never seen a factual post or a serious attempt by you to further any discussion.
You are filth - stay away - I choose not to serve you - my first amendment right.

And yet it continually proves to be the dems busing people to voting places with the promise of a ham sandwich and an RC Cola.

What the frick is wrong with you?
Did you see how easily you were duped by joy fricking Reid yesterday?
Be honest for once.

The degree to which they affected the outcome of this election isn’t really the big issue.

OH I suspect Obama's meddling in the Israeli election was far more nefarious than that/

You’re going to slip right down that Trump 2020 landslide victory right into the gay camps

Or you have a bunch of media in America who are in the tank for one candidate and her platform of political cronyism, pay for play and warmongering for profit, so the playing field need be leveled.
Seriously, the Clinton's were in knee-deep with Ukrainian oligarchs, who donated millions to their foundation, and all of a sudden the CIA gets involved in ousting Yanukovych and installing a pro-NATO candidate.
Look no further than Clinton's own inherent corruption if you want an explanation as to why Russia meddled.

Bitch you were on here last night pushing a debunked, homophobe Joy Ried tweet as fact.

Yep, wasn't that long ago the obama administration sent a team to Israel to influence their election.
Russian interference would have garnered zero attention had the outcome in 2016 been different. They are simply reverse engineering an election result.

I'll grant you that - it should be studied to see if we could eliminate it altogether.
But I fail to see how it should be the basis for Special Counsel Investigations that are obviously designed to do nothing but dig up unrelated dirt on Trump and anyone associated with him - this is a fatal misuse of our judicial system.
I dont think you would have anyone from either 'side' disagree that there was some meddling - but my question is whether or not it was at all significant?
For example does it warrant any more attention than rooting out illegal voting?
- I hope you won't disagree that there were some illegals who cast votes
- so how SIGNIFICANT was it?
An illegal vote actually DOES influence the OUTCOME directly. Spurious ads on facebook are ripples in mid-ocean compared to illegal votes - and I hope that NOBODY thinks illegal votes dont actually happen.
My question is = Is there more than just THAT???
I seriously want to know.

Honestly, Putin defended his interests in Crimea after Hillary enriched herself and supported the illegal Ukraine coup in 2009.
That is the catalyst for this Russia meddling narrative.

It’s been said a thousand times, but Russia, China, Israel, etc. ALL try to influence American politics, as we do to them. It’s been going on for decades. We know it, they know it, and we all combat it to the best of our capabilities.
This was just the convenient excuse used to explain away Hillary’s loss and delegitimization (and ultimately remove) Trump from the WH.

This is the exact narrative that I have been supporting - it seems to me so obvious that even the "other side" would tire of promoted the false narrative.
The false narrative has endured so long that it bothers me that I may be overlooking something.
