Where is this happening outside of NYC, where the governor admitted today they're sitting on thousands of ventilators (in other words, we don't have a shortage of ventilators in NYC)
New Orleans. The convention center will become a 1,000 bed hospital and there is mention of two field hospitals with 500 beds each.

There's your mistake. I've seen nothing like that at any store I've been in recently.

Cancer kills 600k+ annually.

Heart disease kills 650k+ annually.

Accidents kill 160k+ annually.

Chronic lower respiratory disease kills 160k annually.

Stroke kills 146k annually.

Alzheimer's kills 120k annually.

Diabetes kills 80k+ annually.

Influenza and pneumonia kill 55k annually.

Suicide kills 47k annually.

source CDC

We don't shut down the entire economy over any of those killers.

Unless COVID-19 deaths hit 651k annually then frankly IDGAF. People die everyday. Right now there are a few sick people in each state dying a bit sooner than they would have, with NY being an exception.

Seasonal flu has infected about 40 million Americans over 6 months so far. Meanwhile, CV19 infected ~105K over 2 months.

Now maybe you're right. Maybe we will see a ~400-fold expansion of CV19 infections over the next 4 months. But the current pattern doesn't really support that.
Thank you for explaining that.

Okay, but you understand that New Orleans and NYC aren't the norm across the country, right?

I've gone in about three times and can't stand the place. Haven't bought anything in there.

They've added thousands of beds in NYC in less than a week.

I went to H-E-B here in W Texas today and they had places to stand on for social distancing. Limited the number of people at a time. Had sanitized carts when going in. Didn’t have toilet paper but it was a nice experience.

Of course. But, still, that's never happened with the flu.

I hope people in less affected areas can return to work soon, but as far as S.E. Louisiana, I doubt that is advisable.

I've seen that in some stores. I think that 6ft social distancing is about as effective as "duck and cover" from the 1950s. If someone coughs and aerosolizes the virus, you can be 25feet behind them, but as soon as you walk through their cloud, you're at risk.

The 24/7 cock gobbling and sensationalizing of this virus by the MSM, I.e. CNN, NBC,ABC, MSNBC and the rest of the globalist cucks is the reason this virus is basically going to bankrupt this country. It’s like cutting off both legs and an inch off your dick because you have a head ache. Really. Just wait until they destroy the supply chain that delivers food and services to yours and 1 billion other families and everyone begins to starve. Come back to me then with your virus bad shite

There are 3,000 "serious cases" in the country right now. What's a "serious case" if many, many thousands more are being hospitalized?

Yeah, but they're the only store near me with fresh squeezed orange and grapefruit juice. Actively looking for a alternative.

Plus they are gouging. Cut the bottle size from 32 oz to 29 oz, and jacked the price up by 3 bucks a bottle.

I don't know what a "serious" case means. I don't know who is collecting that data nationally and how they define it.

Like I said earlier, multiple floors of multiple large hospitals in NOLA are filling with COVID cases. No, not all are on ventilators and there are still vents available, but, based on current rates of need for hospitalization, field hospitals are being planned for in the very near future.
