Why don't they just go to a friggin' payday loan place?
It varies from state to state, but in many, many places, the interest rates on those loans is absolutely astronomical… Comparable to pawnshops and title loan places.

Are you suggesting that they should incur 200% annual interest rates, because two politicians are acting petulant?

They aren't.

A much better option than one of those check cashing scams is a 0.0% credit card. Some are no payments/interest free for 15 months.

this. and it probably comes with a sign up bonus. at least that's what i'd do. then pay it off when back pay comes in.

Never spent a bunch of time in northern Virginia or D.C., but around here there are just as many payday loan places as McDonal's and Suways, and I be damned if I didn't go to Speedy Loans before I lined up at a soup kitchen or a restaurant giving away free meals to federal employees for the news cameras.

...If the Shutdown continues, I'm gonna borrow 10 million dollars, detail my grandpa's horse trailer and turn that bitch into a traveling payday loan place for federal employees!!!

They can Navy Fed and USAA are both offering loans. If you hear someone on TV bitching it is 100% BS. There are many programs offered and most mortgage lenders and creditors are wokring with all federal workers. Totally non-issue right now. 2 months from now it might be an issue but right not no zero issue.

The issue is some of us are required to work and getting no pay with no idea when the pay will come. That’s illegal.

I'm sure some are but will the payday loan folks give a loan to someone who doesnt know when the next payday will be?

My nephew is a Federal Agent. He told me that the bank he uses, sent him a letter stating, should he come to need money to get him through the shutdown, it was available interest free.

These Federal Agents have their credit inspected frequently, to insure they are solvent. An agent that is at risk financially, is a risk to the institute, and subject to termination.

That’s fine, but it’s not like I’m hurt or lost my job. I’m still having to work while some a-hole, partying Dems play keep away with my money.

I’m in the same boat as you.
