'Send help': LA GOP leader issues desperate appeal after Dem mayor's campaign vid shocks viewers

EXCLUSIVE: Los Angeles County GOP Chair Roxanne Hoge issued an impassioned appeal for Republicans to "send help" to Democratic-controlled California, describing what she sees as rampant corruption in the state and saying most people "can't understand the level of obsession they have with controlling our lives."

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Hoge addressed the online reaction to a recent viral video posted by Democratic Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass in which the mayor said the city government would match six times every dollar donated to her re-election campaign. While some social media users expressed shock, Hoge said she was not surprised.

"The rest of the country doesn't understand what we're living under here," she told Fox News Digital.

"The number one thing people need to understand about Los Angeles in particular and California in general is that they've codified all of their shenanigans," she explained. "What normal people consider cheating or weirdness in the electoral process? It's all in the rules [here]."

In a recent viral social media post, Bass, Los Angeles’ 72-year-old progressive mayor, said that "when you donate to our campaign, the city can match your donation 6 to 1," adding, "If you donate $5, the city turns it into $35."

Bass said that "thanks to LA’s super match program, every qualified donation from Los Angeles residents is matched six to one by the city." She added that after this year’s mayoral primary, in which Republican candidate Spencer Pratt garnered significant support, "we had to start over from scratch."

"So, we need you to rush in your matching donation right now, to help fuel this campaign," she said.

Social media users questioned and criticized Bass’ comments.

Conservative activist Billboard Chris commented, "How is it legal to take money from Los Angeles taxpayers to fund your own re-election campaign?" Commentator Matt Van Swol wrote, "Can someone please explain to me like I’m 5 years old how this is not COMPLETELY illegal?????"

All while there's record homelessness, no houses rebuilt in the Palisades, record all time crime, Hollywood dying.

Re-elect this complete imbecile.

The same pattern of futility characterizes Mayor Karen Bass’s signature homelessness program, Inside Safe. Fraud and abuse have plagued Inside Safe.

The city’s harm-reduction approach to drug addiction makes matters worse

The city seems unable to repair its sidewalks, repave its streets, or maintain aging infrastructure. It cannot keep public parks from becoming open-air drug markets or streets from turning into homeless encampments

Yet the city is failing at the unglamorous basics of governance: enforcing rules, permitting housing, filling potholes, answering phones, maintaining streets, and protecting public spaces.

basically if you don't subscribe to the leftist socialist views and you continue to live in Cali, you are probably beyond hope.

Tell me you've never been to coastal Orange County or San Diego County without telling me you've never been.

California should be a federally designated "Safe Space" for all who subscribe to Democratic Socialism and for those who support the Red/Green Alliance.

The insidious and destructive ideology of Progressivism/Leftism needs to be isolated and quarantined to CA. There's likely enough room in CA to hold the estimated 75-100 million Americans who are hell bent on destroying the constitutional republic.

California is so corrupt and full of foreign influences, so much so, that federal troops and military tribunals are needed.

Lived there a year in mid-60’s and loved it. Spend several vacations an extended motorcycle trips out there pre2006.

Fabulous scenery and totally tolerable population then.

Not sure I’d drive thru there nonstop anymore.

California is lost . Only way to fix it would be to turn purple states red . These people in California that hate the politics so much need to move .

Untrue, knowing is why the rest of the country stays far away.

That's it. Whites are only in the retiree-heavy wealthy sections or in the boondocks. There aren't any kids. Whites in LA Unified School District(the second largest in the US) preK-12 are under 10% now.

Where did your kids move to after they moved out of the house? Talk about replacement theory, after this current group of retirees passes, you'll have been erased.

This is why all my relatives in California have left or will be leaving soon. 3 have left this year. 5 more have bought property in Florida or Alabama and will be leaving before the end of the year and the last 2 are moving to North Carolina next year. These are all very successful people and have had it with the cost of living, crime and corruption
