Worse case Reps:

Best case for Reps:

Martha McSally and Cory Gardner are a risk to flip Dems.
They need to hold for a best case outcome for the Reps. Doug Jones is a flip to the Reps.

McSally should have never been appointed after losing an election.

Would be interesting to see what Bernie or Warren (or Klobs) would do if they get the nomination

She is the most vulnerable IMO. If she wins it will be because of Trump's coattails. But I could easily see Trump wining AZ and McSally losing.

McSally is a terrible terrible candidate. She is getting her arse kicked in fundraising and brings nothing to the table.

Dems will net 1 because of it.

52-48 is what will end up happening.

This is what will end up happening. Ducey won by fricking 10 points and the GOP claimed every major statewide election in 2018 yet she still lost.

I forgot to mention John James has a chance, very small, but a chance none the less to get an actual trump bump to win MI

The RNC needs to step up, admit their mistake, and primary her with someone electable.

Well, probably late for that now.

Senators should have never been elected.

They were supposed to be appointed but some dumbasses in our past fricked that up with an amendment.

Why does the ‘worst case scenario’ for the GOP not include Collins losing? Or Tillis for that matter.

Don’t see how it can be the worst case scenario unless you actually consider the worst conceivable outcomes.

The Michigan Senate race moved to Toss-Up by the Cook Report so it could be 55-45.

Because she won't.

Ok? The thread isn’t “most likely outcome”

Just curious that any discussion of worst possible senate outcomes would not include that. That election will be within the margin even if she wins

Keeping the US Senate in 2020, along with Trump in the WH, is of the upmost importance to our nation.

The federal courts balance of power is shifting back to the constitutionalist vison that the Founders had in mind.

Ginsburg is 86 & hanging on by a thread(I know, I know).

Breyer is 81 and apears to be in good health.

Sotomayor is 65 and looks horrible, diabetes I think.

Thomas is 71 and looks to be decent health.

That is four possible justices that could have something bad happen to them, but who knows.

Then there is the all important lower federal courts.

Trump is appointing great justices and Mcturtle is getting through.

The federal judges appointed by Trump is around 20% of the total judiciary. That's one of every five judges on the courts.

Plus with this year many more will be appointed.

If Trump wins the WH again in 2020 and the GOP can keep their majority in the US Senate for 2020, I believe Trump could appoint 40-50% of the entire US judges on the federal courts.

That would have a HUGE impact on the nation for the next 50 years.

Hasn't Thomas said he does not plan to die on the bench?

I wouldn't doubt it.

He has been vilified more than just about anyone else in recent history.

I am sure he wants to kick back and relax in his retirement years and do a few things.

He has documentary coming out real soon that I just may go see.

I dont remember the exact quote, but that's the general idea... given the nominees Trump has put up for SCOTUS, I could see Thomas retiring in the 2nd or 3rd year of a Trump 2nd term. 30 years is a long time to do ANYTHING, and I have to think Thomas likes him some Trump.
