Danforth has never been a staunch conservative. Hes the reason we have the term RINO
When asked why he ran as an (R) in an overwhelmingly (D) state, his reply was "the same reason you sometimes choose which movie to see, it was the one with the shortest line." Real rock sold conservative there, amirite?
And at 90, theres very little chance he penned that op-ed himself
When John Ashcroft was being touted for AG, a DIM Senator stated that "John Danforth would have been my first choice. John Ashcroft would have been my last choice."
Danforth himself said he was a political moderate
Janet Reno appointed Danforth to lead an investigation into the FBI's role in the 1993 Waco Siege. Guess what? November 8, 2000, Special Counsel Danforth concluded that the allegations were meritless. Ramsey Clark—a former US Attorney General, said that the report "failed to address the obvious": "History will clearly record that these assault will be the greatest domestic law enforcement tragedy in the history of the United States."

He may as well be barking at the moon.

MAGA has a timeline, once Trump is gone the movement will be dead. Just like the Tea Party.
Next GOP rep will toss a few nuggets to the MAGA baws but will be much more a traditional conservative and he'll win.

Disagree. Trump showed them how to do it. You will see Vance, DeSantis, and others taking up the torch.
