Only $15 a month to me to help provide a barrier for some scum to access these sites? Sounds good to me!

You mean to tell me that when companies are able to confirm their product in accordance with Market forces that they operate more efficiently then when government dictates to them some ideal as laid out by do-gooders who never run a business?

Well color me polka dots

internet should be regulated similar to utilities. we have incentivized the shite out of these companies to build this infrastructure. also as someone in the software and web application industry this would be very concerning especially as people move to the cloud and become more reliant on these companies.

When was NN put into place and why weren't these big bad companies doing what everyone anticipates them to do once NN is ended?

Looks like with the whole package, my rates would decline.

You aren't counting the base fees Plus the modem rental fee, "rebroadcast" fee, etc.

They were and are. They have more incentive now to do it too. They have pretty much all gotten into the content creation and delivery business.

Data needs are far different now than in the early 2000s. Innovations in content delivery have drastically increased data consumption by a logarithmic factor. Net neutrality rules were put in place at precisely the right time. And they are being repealed at precisely the wrong time for consumers.

Almost as if they are a tiny relatively dense state. 297 people per sq. mile v. 90 people per sq. mile.

Japan also has better internet than the U.S. and also has NN.

Oh really Google? I should worry about isps filtering my content based on politics! LOL

You should worry about an ISP doing it just as much as you should worry about a search engine doing so. It's not an "or" but an "and".

NN was a political football for years prior to the implementation of NN. ISPs were under pretty intense pressure to not implement these policies prior to 2015.

If they are still doing it, why keep NN?

I see a lot of if NN is gone then___ (negative reaction). Just trying to find something unbiased. Which is impossible on google. NN doing work.

Well of course but the irony was still pretty funny.

I can't switch ISPs nearly as easily as changing my default search engine

Honestly though, more-expensive Internet and less hanging out on it, is probably good for society.

This but i was told today losing NN would mean 10k more a year per household and college funds will be destroyed

Making a joke about google is not bitching.

If you can't swap ISPs with NN in place does it really make a difference if they get rid of NN?

s is what Google, Youtube, Reddit, and Twitter are currently doing. Not sure there is anything "neutral" about that.

Ok but those are sites ON the internet. You still have access to the websites that you agree with. ISPs having control means that you wont have access to sites with which you agree.

this is a bit of hyperbole. I support net neutrality but this is a wireless carrier like Verizon- not apples to apples.

this is probably what our phone service prices would look like.
