Statement of Anthony Guglielmi, Chief of Communications for the United States Secret Service on Accusations of Deleted Text Messages From DHS Inspector General
Published By
U.S. Secret Service Media Relations
Published Date
2022-07-15
The insinuation that the Secret Service maliciously deleted text messages following a request is false. In fact, the Secret Service has been fully cooperating with the Department of Homeland Security Office of Inspector General (DHS OIG) in every respect – whether it be interviews, documents, emails, or texts.
First, in January 2021, before any inspection was opened by OIG on this subject, the Secret Service began to reset its mobile phones to factory settings as part of a pre-planned, three-month system migration. In that process, data resident on some phones was lost.
DHS OIG requested electronic communications for the first time on Feb. 26, 2021, after the migration was well under way. The Secret Service notified DHS OIG of the loss of certain phones’ data, but confirmed to OIG that none of the texts it was seeking had been lost in the migration.
Second, DHS OIG’s allegation regarding DHS’s cooperation with its investigation is neither correct nor new. To the contrary, DHS OIG has previously alleged that its employees were not granted appropriate and timely access to materials due to attorney review. DHS has repeatedly and publicly debunked this allegation, including in response to OIG’s last two semi-annual reports to Congress. It is unclear why OIG is raising this issue again.

Me as a tax paying natural born American citizen, I question the mere principle that the Secret Service was compromised that day. I am of the at most opinion that each and every one of those Patriots were putting their lives in the line each and every time DJT took a step. They never felt more appreciated and called to honor than during the Trump administration as they finally felt a calling to protect the very honor of which they served.
Me as a natural born tax paying American citizen also realizes the report of deleted text messages is 100% true in the respect that the Deep State scrubbed the agents on the ground’s text messages to only further their deplorable rhetoric to cover their own crimes against this once great nation.

What’s the implication here?
I guess it's not clicking for me either. Is this supposed to be good for Trump?

They’re part of the US government.
They don’t utter a syllable they don’t intend to share.
Color me mental, but I don’t believe a word any of ‘em say—regardless of where their so-called loyalties lie.

Given the source (NPR, CNN, etc) it should be obvious.
The J6 Committee is floating this story out there to intimidate and discredit the Secret Service. The implication being "see, they deleted all their texts, they are obviously hiding something, the testimony of this lying whore last week is therefore fact, arrest Drumph".

Joseph Cuffari is the DHS IG. He was appointed by Trump, and seems to be a good guy. He's clearly been battling anti-Trump factions within the OIG ever since his arrival in 2019. E.g., said factions used the whistleblower route to circumvent Cuffari and attack Ken Cuccinelli via the OIG over J6.
Presumably these critical SS reports/complaints are Cuffari's though, which would intimate SS managers deleting pro-Trump materials.

The impression the IG wants to create is that President Trump ordered the agents to delete incriminating text messages.

If NPR is reporting it they must think its detrimental to Trump.

CNN is pumping this story like they were covering for Trump.
