Basically said Administration failed to demonstrate need for question. Did not rule on legality of question.

Typical chicken shite Roberts opinion. Nullify a controversial issue but don’t rule on merit of issue.

Straddle the fence.

They are scared to death for us to find out how many illegals are truly here in this cesspool country. They’ve been saying 11 million for like 20 years now but the real number is around 30 million or more. But the stupid american people will still believe the blatant lie of 11 million.

Didn’t the Administration just add it back in?

The only question should be whether or not foreigners, legal or illegal, should be included in apportionment of the US House of Representatives. All else is either irrelevant or political BS.

So Trump gets another bite at the apple before the lower court, which will rule based on new filings by Trump administration, in which case it will end up back at the Supreme Court.

Trump needs better attorneys to argue his cases before the courts. They're all unassertive, disorganized whimps.

Yes, this can end up back in court, but is the net effect for the 2020 census this issue is over given the timeframe?

That is what is being reported across the media.
But it is not the finding.

The finding was to give Census Bureau a second bit at the apple in specifying rationale for reintroduction of a citizenship question

I hope I'm wrong - and I absolutely could be, but I don't think it's going to be technically possible for the commerce dept to jump through all the procedural hoops made necessary by SCOTUS' decision today in time to get the question on the census for 2020.

I'm sure the administration can file suit to enjoin until the question is resolved.
