According to Senator Durbin, this confirmation is not about Judge Kavanaugh, the Supreme Court, or Justice Kennedy’s seat.
This is about President Trump and :insert litany of talking points here:
God this grandstanding is getting old. No, Dick, it doesn’t need to be taken in context of who the President is or what that President does unrelated to this nomination.
It’s about this specific nominees qualifications for the chair. That’s it.
ETA: tl;dr—Durbin went on a two minute diatribe just so he could say “unindicted co-conspirator” on camera.

Got to let that go. He is BEGGING Kavanaugh or any of these Senators to defend the President or say that nothing has been proven. Then he’ll run out next recess to do Wolf Blitzer’s show in the rotunda and scream “RECUSAL” over and over again.
