Yes, but now he can point to actual emails that he had declassified overnight.

I can’t understand Leahy over his death rattle

ETA: why is he hung up on this email about “stolen talking points” that was sent to Kavanaugh 15 years ago? And why is it relevant

Leahy really tried to set up a gotcha trap with a single random email from 16 years ago? Is this the best they have?

What is Leahy expecting to get out of this questioning? This doesn't seem unusual to me at all.

In 2004 Hillary was against gay marriage during a debate.. A lot can change in 15 years!

I'm just going to go back and listen to the Republican portions. The Democrats aren't asking anything of substance.

Is Leahy really trying to find a smoking gun over common inner-office emails?

Leahy knows damned well the emails while Kav worked for W Bush is covered under executive privileage. He is also blaming Trump it is ridiculous.

This question couldn’t be less dishonest. Is Senator Leahy, a guy who’s been on the hill for basically half a century, really going to say that receiving “stolen talking points” from a staffer would raise a red flag for him?

As if congressional staffs don’t share information or leak like a colander?

These people live in quite a bubble. Vermont must be a weird place full of weird people.

ETA: now that I think about it, the early 2000’s are probably the latest period that Leahy has coherent recollection from. That would explain his obsession over nonsense from 2002 that doesn’t appear relevant in any way to these hearings.

He's taking it personal and it doesn't have anything to do with this confirmation. It's annoying.

Kav: “you asked if it raised a red flag, no it did not”

Leahy, clearly wanting a different answer: (sighs), (remembers to look down at his notes so he can figure out what day it is and who these men in suits are around him), “something something Roe v Wade?”

Senator Graham is doing a good job here.

Now I’ll go wash my hands

He is another one who is great in these committee hearings.

He just needs to shut the frick up the rest of the time. These people are all glamour hogs. They want to be on screen and in the headlines in an effort to get reelected. It's sickening.
