This is nonsense. Even Jesus took time to go to weddings, fish, travel.

Well first of all, he was supposedly sinless God-incarnate. That kinda invalidates any and all direct comparisons.

Second, name one thing Jesus supposedly did as described in the gospels that wasn't to further his mission? One single he did purely for fun?

Well that's yet another fairly ignorant proposition, isn't it.

I think the Bible picking up with 30-something year old Jesus is bullshite. I want to know about acne Jesus and awkward teenager Jesus and confused 20-something Jesus.

I thought I did, though I obviously don't believe such a thing exists anymore.

God is cool - shhhh, don't tell anyone. They might think you're a fundamentalist, extremist, whacko.

The gospel writers included the things about Jesus that were pertinent to the gospel message, but certainly Jesus took time to do activities such as fishing that were solely for relaxation. Not everything about Jesus' life is recorded and we know very little about his childhood and teen years.

So what is the difference between peace of mind gained that way vs an atheist practicing daily meditation?

Meditation is glorified relaxation techniques, I hardly find it comparable to a lifestyle based solely around an omniscient deity.

Well since I no longer believe, by definition I cannot know such a thing.

At the time I knew it to be true. I came to realize it was merely a subjective experience duplicated by many things apart from Christianity.

So originally you said that even Jesus did fun stuff just because. And now youre saying you know this because...well, why would he not...

he went to the alien home world and spent his developmental years where he learned his craft only to come back to Earth and demonstrate his 'divine' powers.

just as plausible as the NT
