Public School in Louisiana is all about SPS.
Public schools across the country are all about test scores thanks to No Child Left Behind and all subsequent monstrosities.

One of these school boards is gonna have to bite the bullet and mandate what the org chart should look like. All I ever hear is “the jindal law says the school board has no say in hiring” and the school board members won’t fight it. And so the school board offices implode with employees. At some point we need a court ruling on the law. The way I read it, the law was written so that a board member couldn’t threaten to vote against the superintendent if they wouldn’t hire their nephew. It doesn’t mean they have no say in hiring.

Schools have "nutritionists".
Biggest waste of money of all time.
Biggest waste of money of all time.

When I was an assistant principal, I had discipline duties, plus teacher observations/evaluations, SPED ARD/504 meetings, department meetings, before/after school plus lunch duty, hall duty between classes, facilities inspections, accompany drug dog sweeps, etc. Plus, I liked to walk the halls during classes to see & hear what was going on and to be present where the staff & students could see me. I was also closer to the classrooms & had my radio in case I was called to a location. So I had a full day every day... I didn't sit around doing nothing.

In Dallas, our admins 'handle' discipline but like everywhere else nothing is done to the students. Most get a slap on the wrist and are back at school the next day. There are 6 admins (Principal and Assistant Principals) at my school.
Also in Dallas if you go to the district office, you will see many employees basically sitting around and doing nothing. All this wasted money could go for the students and teachers. Well mainly for those students who actually care about their education. But that is a topic for a different day

You are welcome to come do my job one day to find out.
Do students even realize when you’re not at school? Teachers?
Your job exists to serve students, not the other way around.

From what I have seen usually the SRO is involved in discipline when it something major now and they are paid by the sheriffs office.
I'm a SRO and I have absolutely nothing to do with discipline. I only enforce criminal statutes. Anything else gets handled by the A.P.s. I don't care if a girl walks into school in the morning wearing a bikini and stilettos. Poor taste? Sure. Dress Code violation? Yep. Criminal? Nope. I won't say a word to her about it. That's Administration's job. In fact, our district tries their best to keep kids out of the criminal justice system, so sometimes there are criminal violations that they don't even tell me about. The A.P. might catch a kid with weed, then just send them to DAEP for 30 days and flush it.

This is what happens when you make it impossible to discipline problem students. In my day, problem students got a choice of corporal punishment or ISS, and if they continued to cause trouble they were suspended or sent to an alternative school.

I still recall the horror I felt at the thought of having to meet Mr. Temple's
"ELECTRIC PADDLE" for really bad offenses. (Rumor was that nobody could survive it - which was why nobody had any first hand experience to relate.)
