Yeah, no.

Arabs certainly operate differently, but this is a false statement.

This is one of our fundamental problems in the US. We are so ethnocentric that we have no true concept of how other cultures truly operate.

This is why we find ourselves in the predicament we are in today in places like Minneapolis, Dearborn, soon to be Dallas, and all over Europe.

Saudi Arabia has quietly, and sometimes publicly, supported in spirit and often in materiel, the fall of Iran.

Agree...but the Saudis are no military power

Compared to who?

This is a false statement too. They have hard and soft power.

They have working relationships with Israel, and their intelligence agencies have saved our asses on more than one occasion.

They know with great confidence that it has been the Iranian intelligence apparatus that has been responsible for ALL conflict in the Middle East in some capacity.

Iranian Intelligence but also

Mossad
CIA
MI6
FSB/SVR

Correct… because of that reason the Saudis should keep their opinions concerning matters of war to themselves…

Further evidence of our ethnocentric perspective. If you want true change in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia is a must. Without Saudi Arabia, there is no path for success.

The good news is the Saudis are amenable to such things and are very pragmatic on the subject.

OBL was a Yemeni, who had Saudi citizenship. Did Saudi drop the ball? frick yeah they did. Were there people inside the kingdom culpable? More than likely. Has Saudi done more to disable AQSL and their operational cells? More than any country not named the United States.

I’m not a fan of the Saudis but you can work with them and we have done so extensively.

The Saudis hate Iran (Sunni vs Shia) and would love for the current Iranian regime to be wiped out.

The “say” they have is because we allow them to have it (we being America)… all these relationships could change on a whim… if we put the clown crown price of Iran back in power Iran will assume the position the Saudi’s now hold

That's a very simplistic view. I understand your logic, but simply installing Iran’s crown prince wouldn't negate the decades of relations we've had with Saudi. What it would accomplish is erasing much of the radical Islamic terrorism in the ME.
Namely Hamas and Houtis, which are both funded by Iran.

I feel the exact opposite… that’s exactly our policy in dealing with these matters… people seem to forget America is the hegemonic power in these matters… the Saudi’s say so comes from America… the control they have over global oil markets would only be allowed to go so far … we all know this

That buildup will not be in vain. POTUS Trump does what POTUS Trump feels is necessary.

We dropped the ball too. We knew. I’m not giving anyone a pass.

I am speaking from personal, professional experience. The Saudis have shared invaluable intelligence with us.
