Bombay Sapphire, tonic water, fresh lime, and a dash of liberal tear bitters.

I’ll take a generous pour.

Nice!

I have heard good things but not gotten to taste that one yet. What sort of character does it have (i like the earthy/peat flavors, like lagavulin 16... but also enjoy smoothness or even a touch of sweet i.e. Oban 14 or the Dalwhinnie for example). So many great Scotch flavors.

Do you have any other favorite scotch choices?

This was my first taste of Glenburgie. Fantastic.
This was an independent bottling from Single Cask Nation. Not sure how easy it is to find but if you find a Glenburgie I would recommend it. I had it at a Scotch tasting back in January and bought a bottle that night. Just got around to opening it now.

It is a Speyside Scotch so it’s not peated or Smokey. More floral with hints of vanilla cream. This bottle is 59% ABV so it packs a little punch as well.

As far as my favorite Scotches. I do love the Islay Whiskies
Kilchoman is my favorite distiller, I’ve yet to have one of theirs that was not really really good. Also a big fan of Lagavulin, Ardbeg, Oban (14 and 18 are great), Balvenie, Talisker and Springbank.

Some good lesser known ones for my taste are Ledaig and Aberlour (especially the A’Bunadh)

Since Covid the money I would have otherwise spent going out to eat or traveling has been spent growing my Scotch inventory. Up to just shy of 50 bottles. Luckily for my liver, I buy it a lot faster than I can drink it.

Haven’t had this one but it’s on the short list of ones to buy next.

Tully is way underrated. Ask a bartender.

Bombay white label martini with a twist to get things going (Yes, it’s cheaper but I prefer the white label over the sapphire—please do t tell the OT!).

Paul Barra brut rose champagne—some bubbly to celebrate (anniversary).

Now we’re out at and the wife orders Cakebread. I’m not a wine a guy but this is really good.

A Jameson neat gets the bullpen call to close. I seldom drink much without quaffing a beer but so it goes tonight.
