... with polls open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters across the state are deciding on several key races and ballot measures, though U.S. House races have been cancelled and moved to the November 3, 2026 general election due to redistricting changes following the Callais Supreme Court ruling.
Voters will cast ballots for the U.S. Senate primary, where incumbent Bill Cassidy faces Republican challengers Julia Letlow and John Fleming, among others, in a high-profile race influenced by national political dynamics.
All voters, regardless of party, will also see five state constitutional amendments on their ballots, covering issues like teacher pay raises, judicial retirement age, and local school district creation in St. George.
Additional races include:
Louisiana Supreme Court and Public Service Commission seats
Local elections such as mayor of Kenner, Slidell police chief, and Lafourche Parish president
Municipal and parish-level offices and tax proposals.
Louisiana’s new closed primary system is in effect:
Registered Democrats and Republicans can only vote in their party’s primary, while unaffiliated voters must choose one party’s primary to vote in—and must stick with that party in any June runoff.
Voters need a photo ID to cast a ballot, and early voting was held from May 2–9. A runoff election, if needed, will be held on June 27, 2026
Good luck Louisiana!
Run Cassidy's arse outta office!
(Who will beat him in the primary? Or will there need to be a runoff?)

Julia Letlow is the U.S. representative for Louisiana’s 5th congressional district, serving since April 14, 2021, and is the first Republican woman elected to Congress from Louisiana. A native of Monroe, she holds a Ph.D. in communication from the University of South Florida and previously worked in higher education administration, including at the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM) and Tulane University.
2026 U.S. Senate Campaign
Letlow is running in the Republican primary for U.S. Senate on May 16, 2026, challenging incumbent Bill Cassidy. She received an early endorsement from Donald Trump and has been joined by high-profile supporters including Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry and Attorney General Liz Murrill. A March 2026 poll showed her leading the primary field, with her support increasing after voters learned of Trump’s endorsement.
Committee Assignments and Legislative Work
She serves on the House Committee on Appropriations and the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, with subcommittee roles in agriculture, labor, health, education, and national security. Notable legislation includes the Parents Bill of Rights Act (H.R. 5), passed by the House in 2023, and the Farm Rescue Act of 2025 (H.R. 5473). She also introduced the No Delays in Disaster Relief Act and secured $2.6 million for public safety infrastructure in Livingston Parish.
Personal Life
Letlow was married to Luke Letlow, who was elected to Congress in 2020 but died of COVID-19 before taking office; she won the subsequent special election. They have two children, Jacqueline and Jeremiah. In 2025, she announced her engagement to Kevin Ainsworth, a Baton Rouge attorney.
Damn .... her husband died of Covid?
She's very attractive. 45 years of age.
BUT ... BUT ... BUt ...

If tweet fails to load, click here. She's apparently the Susan Collins of Louisiana, is that correct?
On the other hand ...

John Fleming is a Republican politician currently serving as the Louisiana State Treasurer, a position he assumed on January 8, 2024, after winning the November 2023 election with over 65% of the vote.
Born in Meridian, Mississippi, Fleming is a physician and U.S. Navy veteran who established a family medicine practice in Minden, Louisiana, in 1982. Before his current role, he served as the U.S. Representative for Louisiana's 4th Congressional District from 2009 to 2017, where he was a founder of the House Freedom Caucus.
Following his time in Congress, Fleming held several senior positions in the Trump administration, including Deputy Assistant Secretary at Health and Human Services, Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Economic Development, and White House Deputy Chief of Staff.
In December 2024, Fleming announced his candidacy for the U.S. Senate in 2026, challenging incumbent Republican Senator Bill Cassidy. He cites Cassidy's moderate voting record and support for certain insurance legislation as key reasons for his challenge, positioning himself as a staunch conservative alternative to Cassidy and Letlow.

The primary goal is to kick out Cassidy, but Letlow is a pro abortion, DEI promoting, climate change believing RINO. I have no idea why Trump endorsed her.
Vote Fleming.
Vote Fleming.

Trump waited until the last minute ... there must be some strategy involved, I would think?
Back room deals of some sort.
The pro abortion thing ... that's a woman thing for the great majority of them. Not all of them but 80%. "Their bodies their choices," has been ingrained in them for 100 years ... since wire coathangers became a thing.
DEI and Global Warming, Climate Change, Green Initiative ... if she's doing all of that then that's a problem.

It’s because she’s an attractive woman. That sort of seems to be his MO.

Can someone confirm this is true? If so I voted for her based on Trumps recommendation.

There was a rumor at St Francis that a local paramedic poked a hole in his throat and he bled out, and they eventually ruled it a "covid " death

I don’t have time to find you links, but when she interviewed for ULM President she called their diversity shameful and stated she wanted to open an entire diversity department. She also attended a UN sponsored Climate Summit and her travel was paid for by a climate group she represents as a member of their board. The abortion aspect is not as straight forward, but there have been suggestions she’s secretly pro abortion.

More than likely he waited until he was all but assured that she was trending to have the most votes in the primary.
He wants Cassidy gone. He wants everyone that voted to impeach him gone ... it's his mission to purge them all and who can blame him.
Nancy Mace is about to get butt raped here in SC after the million replays of her Neil Cavuto interview from 2020.
