Satanic Temple Claims Killing Babies in Abortions is a Protected Religious Ceremony

“The Satanic Temple is proud to announce its Religious Abortion Ritual, a ceremony rooted in our deeply-held beliefs,” the group said in a video announcement on YouTube. “Thyself is thy master. Hail Satan!”
“Many states have laws that interfere with our members’ ability to practice their religious beliefs,” said Satanic Temple spokesperson Jane Essex. “No Christian would accept a mandatory waiting period before they can partake in communion. No Christian would tolerate a law that insists state counseling is necessary before someone can be baptized. Our members are justly entitled to religious liberty in order to practice our rituals as well.”

Based on the title, I was expecting a Babylon Bee article. Now I'm sad.

Well, at least they admit it is an evil practice... I don't think this will get them the outcome they expect...

This battle we are faced with in this country these days is literally a battle between good and evil.
It was just the other day one of the resident shills was trying to tell me that Satanists don't actually do sacrificial rituals.

Hail Satan! Abort Everyone!
Sick humor always amuses me.

They will be back to tell you how the "Satanic Temple" is not really evil and just a parody on everything going on or some other bullshite...

It depends. LaVeyan Satanists are just edgelord atheist humanists. Then you've got the fricking weirdos who actually think they're worshiping Satan. I don't know where the group mentioned in the article stands.

The counter is that Christians killing Satanists should be protected religious ceremony.

you are LITERALLY falling for a very, very basic troll
they're just making abortion arguments and, using the fact that our current law says that abortion is a right, comparing it to other rights or applying it to their "sincere religious beliefs"
go to the link from the article in OP (who also fell for the troll or knows this is a troll and wrote it in a way to rile up their base for clicks)
quote:
Several years ago, The Satanic Temple argued in court that one of their members in Missouri didn’t need to abide by the state’s 72-hour waiting period for abortions because it violated her belief that “one’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will alone.” (That lawsuit was ultimately unsuccessful in part because she was no longer pregnant when the judge issued a ruling.)
They tried a similar tactic in 2019, this time with an anonymous plaintiff whose own pregnancy timeline wouldn’t be an issue, but that didn’t work either. The courts said that whatever obstacles there were to obtaining an abortion in Missouri, women could still theoretically get them and this plaintiff wasn’t singled out because she was a Satanist. So a lawsuit based on religious discrimination was a no-go.
so they've tried this before and TWICE failed
quote:
That’s why, today, The Satanic Temple is laying the groundwork for future battles over abortion. They’re announcing that all first trimester abortions must be “exempt from state regulations that hinder access” to the procedure because such hurdles violate two of their Seven Fundamental Tenets regarding bodily autonomy and adherence to best scientific practices.
They’re basically using the Hobby Lobby Supreme Court decision — which an evangelical business owner used to prevent insurance providers from covering his employees’ birth control — to defend a woman’s right to choose.
they're just using the logic of the current system to make a clever legal argument and, more importantly, get publicity

The Satanic Temple are pretty much skeptics who try to use certain issues, using satire and imagery, to highlight instances of hypocrisy they see with regards to religious freedom.

You start your post by saying I'm falling for a troll, but then you prove I'm not by pointing out they are persistent in this tactic. It's not a "troll" when they're arguing it in court.

you were arguing in THIS THREAD that this was ritualistic murder
they're not arguing for their right to commit murder in court, based on the current legal framework of the country

Yeah, I was. Because he said it in his own words. It's right there at the top of the OP.
I wonder why it's always you that rushes into these threads on Satanism trying to convince the rest of us it isn't real... Every single time. It's the weirdest thing.

even if that quote is correct (which i doubt given teh source), it's still not murder, legally

where did they say "murder"?

like i told you in the other thread, this is a pet project of mine and i posted evidence that was approximately 10 years old
it's a topic that interests me. i am known to jump into such things. most famously, people irrationally criticizing Jamarcus Russell
