If each protesters would take in illegals detainees, host them in their home, put up a bond to insure the illegal appears in court for "due process", then the detention center wouldn't be needed.

Bring them in the facility in one big unsupervised community room for an overnight visit so they can get to know the detainees with no interference by ICE.

I'd handcuff them to that fence and, being summer now, come out with a k-bar and remove clothing every hour until they sunburn.
Have to do it every hour because they can only be detained without charges for 48 hours.
