Ukrainian cargo aircraft shotdown on Monday, a SU-25 fighter yesterday, 777 today. Russians seem to be getting their groove on.

here is what I think happened.
This plane lost contact is it began to cross into ukraine, sometime after that loss of contact the plane would have turned to avoid the war zone, because it lost contact it didn't turn and continued straight which brought them right over a war zone, it got shot down.

Boeing 777 passenger airplane of Malaysian Airlines crashed on the territory of Ukraine in 60 km from the Russian border, a source in air traffic control circles told ITAR-TASS.
The source noted that the flight was supposed to enter the Russian air space at 17:20 Moscow standard time (13:20 UTC).
“However, it fell down in 60 km from the border; the plane’s emergency location beacon went off,” the source said.
