Reports coming out of Ukraine that Russian and Ukrainian naval ships have engaged each other after the Russians earlier blocked access to the Kerch strait for Ukraine. Reports coming out that 3 Ukrainian ships have been captured. The President has called an emergency military cabinet and has raised the military alert levels for troops stationed in eastern Ukraine. Hope cooler heads prevail.

No. I’m just wondering why you found the need to post that.

Russia and Ukraine Exchanging Fire

Let me guess, the peace loving antiwar democrats want Trump to send our full military capabilities to Ukraine to start a war with Russia over something we should not at all be involved in and then spend the next 6 years bitching at him about the war they started?

Frankly none of our business. Let the Russians and Ukrainians sort out their own problems.

That picture is a synopsis of events that have been happening over the course of several years. They aren’t related to this specific incident.

Agreed. But I think we should let Ukraine have some of our older cruisers and destroyers that are near end of life so Russia has to respect some fire power.

We don’t need to give them shite. I’d have no issue selling them some old ships. But frick giving them anything.

Look, this is the bottom line on this subject. We have to ask ourselves one simple question. Are we willing to start WWIII over what is going on between Russia & Ukraine? Honestly, are we willing to do that. Because that’s what will end up happening if we stick or nose in there.

Now keep in mind that we’ve already been “at war” for going on two fricking decades. And in that time we’ve suffered very low casualties comparatively speaking. But a war with Russia would be different. We’d be suffering casualty rates not seen since WWI or WWII. And personally, as the father of a kid who will be of military age in just over a year, I can’t think of one godtdamned thing over there that’s worth sending my son to die for.

We could give the Ukrainians our best ships and they would end up as reefs at the bottom of the sea.
