Romney as the Democratic Nominee in 2020

In my opinion, the two parties are finished in their current form. The Evangelicals will never recover the Republican Party into doing their bidding, and the Democrats are effectively leaderless. They're all a bunch of old douchebags or losers. Elizabeth Warren can't run against him, and Bernie will be 79. For all intents and purposes, Trump has no one to challenge him in 2020.
Or does he now? What if Romney were to run for the nomination of the Democrats? They have no one now and all my liberal friends have turned on a dime about how they felt about Romney 4 years ago. They know that he's a man of integrity who will do everything in his power to do what is right for this country.
Now with Romney not being the SoS, he is now a direct threat to Trump. Seriously, who would be a better candidate to run for their party than a moderate Republican since they have no one and the Republicans are in a stalemate having to put up with Trump for at least 8 years. If I were the head of the DNC, I would start courting Romney hard.

His niece is rRNC chair to be and his son will run for governor of utah in 2020 most likely. I would guess trump finds some kind of job for Romney. Also, not sure James Bond villain Rex will get confirmed either. I wouldn't be shocked if the Dems nonimate deval Patrick in 2020

Then they're going to die. They need to learn to not pander to the PC police and instead actually have progressive views. They're just corporate shills at this point who racebait and lie to the populace, and it just bit them in the arse in the form of Donald Trump. If the Democratic Party of 20 years ago still existed that would be a possibility. But that party is way to left of Romney for this happen.

I agree, but once Pelosi is out of there (can't imagine her being reelected in 2018 for Minority Leader) then they might get someone in smart enough to realize what you're saying. They're already screwed in 2018 for the elections, so if this hasn't been a wake up call, I'd like to think that would be it.
