I want to vote for Rispone but I really hope that he has more than bumper sticker ideas. He seems to be stuck in some sort of campaign rhetorical funk.

This is literally how JBE is all the time when things really matter. It's the plaintiff's lawyer mentality around the Capitol. Unmitigated aggression...gotcha questions with embarrassing answers for the unprepared.
What you're watching tonight is exactly why massive, historic turnover in the legislature makes this governor's race such a big deal. Rispone absolutely has to ignite grassroots to combat JBE's dead vote and illiterate vote...particularly in BR and NOLA. This debate doesn't matter for the hundreds of people watching. But the retail effort over the next two weeks will make or break this race.
Rispone still has a great shot at winning but he has to ignite the base and undercut JBE. Our state's conservatives need to be convinced to get out and vote; it's not hard...just need to be convinced.

Dude Eddie looks like he's getting fricking pummeled. Every time he tries to pivot JBE has a number prepared for him and Rispone has no response to it aside from "the checkbook, look where we're spending." He's not going to win like this.

JBE has cut Tops and has taken away from our sons and daughters the hard work they do to try and get to college, do you want him to keep cutting? He has stated once he is back in to office he wants to raise the gas taxes again by 6% before long hell we’ll be paying gas like liberal California. Oh and the roads suck arse that he (JBE) is talking or should I say lying about infrastructure.

Feel bad for the questioner. Kids had to leave Louisiana for jobs and now he's sad he can't see them as often. fricking Dim policies right there.

Most of my lawyer friends are petrified about what will happen to their livelihoods if JBE loses. The trial lawyer lobby is the most powerful lobby in the State of Louisiana. They own the entire judiciary and most of the legislature, and now the governor.
If I’m Rispone, I would be reading that email from Hooks as an answer to every question.
One of you wise perceptive PoliBaws pointed out the whole email showed no concern for what would happen to their actual clients, but instead what would happen to their paychecks.
I love being a lawyer and I do believe in the justice system, but that simple fact of the email completely grossed me out. Most lawyers are (believe it or not), honest and professional and have a true interest in making sure their clients are not rolled over by the judicial system. That email is the antithesis of what most lawyers are about. It’s the problem where 1

JBE was very aggressive against Vitter. He was in the face and Vitter knows how to handle himself but JBE was very aggressive and ended up winning.
