You realize the constitution can be amended if an overwhelming majority agrees right?
It's really hard to do for a reason, but if 80% of the people want something in a country, then yes voided, amended whatever you want to call it. But turn off the crazy. Nothing about guns will be done that any president can sign any time soon, and if they do the SCOTUS will shoot it down because they won't have the support to change the 2nd amendment.
The 2nd amendment is not absolute, we have rules to it even in this country. You can't own a tank even if you have the money. Anyone wanting to 'ban' semi-auto "weapon of war" has no clue what a semi-automatic weapon is or a weapon of war.

Reference administrative rulemaking by the ATF and other agencies. I don't recall Congress making pistol braces illegal. But nose in the air, keep pretending they're not coming for you.
The continual deference to "USSC will fix it" is only written by people that haven't paid attention to USSC rulings for over 20 years. If USSC does happen to rule in the favor of the Constitution, it will take a decade. Think about what age you are, and what age your kids are.

That applies to states, not to Democrats and Republicans.

I'm going to remain an advocate for the Constitution and our rights. Nothing about that is crazy.

I understand your point, but I find it foolish and irresponsible to count on anyone or anything in the federal government. How many times do we have to be disappointed and betrayed before we learn this lesson?

All amendments are absolute and they are not subject to preemptive abrogation by the government. The 5th Amendment is there for a reason. The only leeway is an interpretation favoring more liberty for the People and more restraint on the government. That is the manifest tenor of the Constitution.

And they are unconstitutional.

I've been hearing them cry about guns real hard for about 10 years and not much if anything has changed. They know it would be really, really, really bloody if they actually did come for our guns

Not one that can fire the main gun apparently

I really don't understand that line of thinking how absolutely no restrictions on firearms what-so-ever would be a good thing, regardless of what the 2nd amendment is. I wouldn't want my neighbor having nuclear weapons

It's heavily regulated, but you can own a fully functional tank in this country.

Democrat says he will do democrat things and people a fricking shocked. You’re going to find something you dislike about every candidate. Everyone isn’t in lock step with every thought of every voter. Find the best candidate but people need to stop looking for unicorns. Politicians are scum bags.

Nuclear weapons aren't firearms, and they have no realistic defensive use.

Okay, the Own Nothing And Eat Bugs people it is, then.

The 2nd amendment is about being able to fight a tyrannical government. Nukes would certainly help that cause, but it's just too dangerous for a citizen to have. There is a line somewhere, and it seems to be at automatic weapons

SCOTUS ruled in Hellar that guns in common use are protected. 49 million AR style guns in circulation seems pretty common to me.
You are correct it’s not absolute as also ruled in Hellar. Scalia stated that the government can regulate MG, SBR’s suppressors etc.

No, it wouldn't.

Maybe you are too dumb to drive. Let's get a jury of your peers to see how that works out for you.
Now does it makes sense for you?
