“So often, the president would say here’s what I want to do and here’s how I want to do it and I would have to say to him, ‘Mr. President I understand what you want to do but you can’t do it that way. It violates the law,'” Tillerson said. “I’d say ‘here’s what we can do, we can go back to Congress and get this law changed. And if that’s what you want to do, there’s nothing wrong with that.’ I told him I’m ready to go up there and fight the fight, if that’s what you want to do.”

Didn't seem like Obama had to go to congress for his "want to do's"

Not sure what the big fuss is here? Pretty sure this kind of thing has gone on with just about every Presidential administration in US history.

Tillerson proved that just because you are good at one thing does not mean you can do anything. He was totally out of his league.

Good man, wrong fit for the job.

See Jeff Sessions

Obama: Here's what I want to do and How I'm going to do it.
Kerry: Mr. President, that's not legal but I will inform the Deep State of your wishes. Thank you sir

It's called building relationships and being willing to compromise. There is an interview with John Boehner where he talks about how he would always to to the White House and him and Obama would discuss things. They would agree on many things, disagree on many things, but they were friends. And they could easily compromise. But Boehner said the problem was having to go back and sell it to everyone else and then have to say things in public that he didn't really believe, etc, etc.

This is probably something that is common with all presidents, but Trump has a hard time with relationships. He ends up burning bridges with most people he has a relationship with. You don't run a government like that.

Schumer has been to the White House to meet with Trump one on one about issues. Try again

This is undoubtedly true to a great extent. Trump is a bombastic narcissist.

However, there are different types of narcissists.

Some just push right over you (Trump),

Others tell you what you want to hear, with shades of truthiness sprinkled in with the lies, and then they stab you in the back if necessary and proceed in clandestine ways to do what they what to do, any way possible (Obama, Hillary).

See, this is exactly right, and that type of lying had gotten completely out of control in politics. That’s part of the reason voters chose Trump.

He may exaggerate and bend the truth but you never get the sense that he’s a scheming snake in the grass type of liar. He doesn’t scheme. What’s on his mind is too quickly on his lips. He’s so narcissistic that he doesn’t really care if people don’t like what he thinks or says.

That guy seems a lot more competent than Trump. But either way who's fail was it? If we're going to sit here and call Rex Tillerson of failure then whose fault is that?

Yet Pompeo, who actually is a lawyer and understands the law, has had no problem whatsoever.

Tillerson was as big a disappointment as the Keebler Elf. Frankly, I never thought much of Sessions, but I thought Tillerson had the right stuff.
