That’s taking the initiative. I mean, it don’t mean they are walking the streets with guns, it just means it’s formed... with members.
And when the national media comes to ask their stupid questions like “ why do you think you need a militia?” You just counter with “why do YOU think we still need Selective Service?”

Sadly, these people following EXACTLY what their state constitution allows will be labeled as wack jobs and placed on some fricking watch list somewhere.

I grew up in Tazewell county. I love this.
Mountain people not giving two fricks about dc progstains is not new. Much disdain for NOVA in that area.

I very much agree. In fact the very future of our republic may depend on doing so if the left wing continues on its present path.

Purchasing a hunting licence, pistol permit, etc, by default, places the holder into a position of the "state militia" eligible to be called into service by the governor of issuing state ( rules to be later generated to qualify the militia as "well organized"). Members of the militia are permitted to bear arms per the 2nd amendment and can purchase ammunition exempt of any federal or state taxation.
IF the progressive movement takes hold in our Federal gov, stacks the SCOTUS, and implements gun control legislation , this is what it will come down to. A pro-active state government that believes in the 2nd would have this plan ready.

We once had a widespread militia. The federalization of the state militias as the National Guard is a fricking travesty.
It has since been codified as law, but damned if it is not ABSOLUTELY trampling on states' rights...
No one talks about this, interestingly.

I would make NoVa, DC, and MD one state, those parts of Western MD that are conservative would join the remainder of VA.
