The two parties have positions on abortion contradictory to their stances on other issues. Democrats embrace protecting the ‘weak and vulnerable’ on every other issue. Who is more vulnerable that a human fetus? Democrats are also keen on protecting various forms of life. From environmental protection, to veganism, etc. This is often supported by feelings of relationship through evolution and emotions about life. How can they not see that every living thing is connected via the same spark from the first life-form? At conception two living cells meet to create the zygote. It is never dead, but consistently living. Why would they not protect this?

Republicans are admittedly comfortable with ending the life of a human if their existence is harmful to other human beings. Murderers are a great example. Hell, I’d be fine with the death penalty for serial child molesters and rapists. We are okay with ending a human life if the cost to benefit ratio makes sense. If you look at the numbers the majority of pregnancies happen in the lowest socioeconomic rungs of society. The people born at this status are far more likely to remain at that position than move up. These people on average cost the tax payer much more in the form of government welfare than other groups while contributing less. Economically it makes much more sense to spend $300-500 on a procedure than potentially millions over a lifetime.

What if said 13-year-old has the baby and then decides after looking at the baby its too painful and then wants to kill it should that be made legal? Abortion is abortion and killing is killing.

Nobody is advocating killing children. Why would you want to do such a thing?

13 year olds can be vulnerable. So can fetuses. Do you consider the fetus alive or dead? If alive, what kind of organism? Is it a rape tumor that should be treated as a medical condition?

Technically the fetus is still more vulnerable, but in the view of most people, both situations suck.

Some people do not recognize the first situation sucks. Those people are psychopaths. They likely abort eggs in bird nests as a kid.

Serious question, is this not what Plan B is for?

Alive by the grace and willingness of its mother to keep it that way. If she doesn't want to grow it until it's a viable human, that is her right.

Obviously.

What does viable mean? Able to sustain itself? Should we kill 2 year olds?
