Republicans intend to subpoena the government whistleblower to testify in the House's impeachment investigation into President Trump's dealings with Ukraine, according to Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio).

The effort is not likely to bear fruit, as Democrats have rejected the idea of ousting the anonymous figure, citing safety concerns, and they have veto power over any GOP subpoena requests for witness testimony. LINK

If these hearings go through and the Republican's can't call their own witnesses, and they aren't allowed to face their accuser, this whole thing should be hammered as a kangaroo court and it should not allowed to proceed.

What a fricking joke our entire system has become.

Not that I’ve really followed this at all...

Do whistleblower laws imply some sort of anonymity? Is this a legal gray area?

What’s the goal?

Why doesn't Lindsey Graham get off his corrupt, compromised arse and start subpoenaing some people? If he would do this, Republicans wouldn't have to put up with that human piece of filth known as Shifty Schiff.

I wish Chuck Grassley was still in charge of that committee instead of No Name's little girlfriend.

What safely concerns? From trump? Trump has long known who this spy was.

If they are so scared [they aren't] of trump.. then shouldn't they make their identity known to the whole world? So that evil drumph doesn't kill him in the shadows?

The only purpose of continuing to try to hide this spy's identity, is to try to make sure most of the public don't realize the spy is just a spy who was tasked to illegally spy on a sitting president.

Miss Lindsey, you’re on the clock.

According to a Greg Jarrett article yesterday, the law only states that the IG(or whoever the WB files the official complaint with) cannot identify the WB. There is no anonymity protection.

They should subpoena him in the Senate, but not as the "whistle blower."

Simple fix for this. Have the senate bring him in for a little chat and then call him again in the impeachment hearing.

WB laws only protect from retaliation. can't be fired, reassigned, demoted, ect.

Threats from the Disney freak, and they are scared if they use his name and something happens to him the MSM will get roasted.

Oh and it helps Dems.
