Not really. Just in my 52 years I’ve seen Democrats and Republicans do complete 180s on several policies. Even though Trump isn’t a traditional republican he’s flipped the GOP’s position on things like free trade, less govt spending, expanded executive powers and (pre-Iran) military intervention in other countries.
