This was the first thing I thought about. That was a Trojan horse that we will never regain our lost freedoms from.

It'll be.. you have to have an ID to post on social media.

Oh, and if you post something we don't like we send that post to your employer, who we will find ways to punish if they don't fire you.

There’s no question this could be used for more nefarious purposes. However, it’s state legislation and any attempt to violate constitutional rights would be shot down by the SCOTUS.

For now, anyway.

Is the La state legislature conservative? They elect a lot of shitheads for some reason.

Tell me how requiring ID to post dangerous misinformation on a social media site = violation of constitutional rights?

Probably end up being used when you log into "disinformation" websites. Fighting disinformation is moral to many voters. People need to be held accountable for "hateful rhetoric."

Youre not wrong here altogether but I could easily throw one up of you Democrats and it would be equally as dissonant.

I’m not even a liberal.

I used to be moderate republican but have learned that casual Trump supporters are brain dead and have ruined the party. Only thing I liked about a Trump is he kept my 401k fat.

The coming rulings on the hundreds of lawsuits filed against Twitter and other social media platforms will be interesting. Most are centered around the often forgotten and overlooked 9th amendment.

Florida, Arkansas, Mississippi, WVA, if you are against this call your state representatives and get it shut down. Let the parents monitor this stuff.

Making it ever so slightly harder for them to view it is an overall net positive.
It was easy in the 80's before the internet. These laws have zero impact other than virtue signaling by republicans.

It is very easy to restrict porn on your child's device. Mine can't even get to TikTok.

I could make a better argument as to why TikTok should require an ID before porn.

So we should get rid of age restrictions on booze, driving, and sexual activity then?

Yes. Let the insurance companies sort it out. If you want to pay $100,000/month to insure your ten year old driver then so be it.

Who's gonna call and bitch about their access to anonymous porn? Pervert alert! Pervert alert!

Maybe Frederick's of Hollywood will bring their mail order catalog back.
