They're tired of his antics and want to rein him in, but they can't do it unilaterally or they look weak.

Then why was this board overflowing with post of "what Trump meant was...." throughout the election and first year in office?
For example, when Trump said we were going to build a wall on our southern border and he would force Mexico to pay for said wall, what he meant was that we would step up border patrols, update and fortify small, high-traffic areas of the current border and the US taxpayer would foot the bill.
When he said he was going to deport every person here illegally and make the stand in line, what he meant was that he would only deport the violent criminals.
When he said he had a healthcare plan ready to roll-out any day that would cover everyone and be affordable , what he meant was wouldn't it be cool if he had a plan like that.

How anyone could possibly see this as a positive for Trump is beyond me.
Who has the leverage here? The unpopular US president who badly needs a win and accomplishment who has already been bragging on Twitter about denuclearizing North Korea or the hermit country who is perfectly fine with the status quo? Kim has nothing to lose.
He just laid his small Korean penis on the negotiating table and told Trump that he either comes to the table without denuclearization or Trump can go on and put his tail between his legs after getting snubbed by a 3rd world dictator.
Pretty goddamned masterful play by Kim Jong Un, really.

I don't think you could possibly be any more ignorantly partisan. Trump is not under pressure for this deal. He's already done more than any recent President by getting the 3 hostages returned and brokering a face to face between NORK and SOKO.
