In 90+ percent of threads where I participate, my initial post is simply an observation relevant to the topic, which I usually believe to be pretty darned objective. And 75% of the responses are childish insults, rather than any attempt to discuss the issue raised.

So, he had a slave ancestor who was impregnated by her owner. So some want to attribute all the baggage of that owner upon the child and its descendants. Just silly.

This "(s)he had a slave-owning ancestor" nonsense was used on Kamala Harris, too. I don't like her one bit, but her 8x-great grandmother didn't really have much choice in the matter.
