I certainly hope you are correct.

LOL. You'll keep selling us crawfish and like it. Who wants that sewer of a state.

The photograph of the crowd discourages me that this will ever come to pass.

I’ve attended many political meeting/speakers’ events.
Almost all of them resemble the crowd you see depicted.
Without young families and other responsibilities to monopolize their time, retirees are often the attendees.

Keep in mind, fewer than 2% of the British people joined UKIP when that group launched the BREXIT movement; greater than 50% of the UK voting public ultimately passed the measure.

This is the same that I see. People with young kids see an excuse is easier.

An independent Texas won't have a border problem with people wanting IN. Texas borders will flow with educated, professional people moving OUT.

Of course the entire thing is a moot question as Texas voters will NOT vote to leave the Union.

At this point, the referendum simply calls for getting the measure on the ballot for Texans’ vote.
We’ll get there.
If not in 2021, then in 2023. Or 2025.

Modern Americans aren’t well educated.

They have university credentials. But they’re not well educated.

And it’s credentialed people who believe in 57 genders, and want to push sexual reassignment on children.

An exodus of these people would make Texas better.

I assume it would fail at the ballot box, if Texas voted on it tomorrow.

Do you expect A failed referendums would build or diminish support?

The more knowledge people gain, the more the measure will grow in support.
That could take some time.
But I 100% believe Texans will ultimately vote to return to nation-status.
No doubt in my mind.

Not sure how confident I am about that, sadly.

I’m in Temple between Austin and Dallas. Austinites are moving here and they’re closing the gap. Not by terrible numbers yet but it’s going to get there.

McLennan County (Waco) is lost.

While TEXIT is certainly finding favor amongst Texas conservatives, the movement is bipartisan.
A straw poll a few years back indicated 30% of Texas Democrats were in favor of secession.

I am definitely in favor.

I think the turnout for voting for secession would surprise a lot of people. I think it would be damn close to passing.

Vote should occur on Jan 20, 2021. I don't live in TX, but I vote YES!

Sincere question, how would the Republic of Texas handle what is most likely going to be an immigration/border issue like they've never seen before.

Citizen's militia guarding the borders. I am 45 minutes at most in a hurry to the northern border where I-35 crosses the Red River. I can have that one shut down inside of 90 minutes with controlled entry that point forward.

I imagine at that point, millions of conservative Americans would see Texas as a personal/political/economic/religious refuge and immigrate in massive numbers, to the Republic of Texas. How would Texas handle that situation? Would Texas let in those people?

I would think there could be a method where we allow property swaps. If you can find property here owned by a lib that wants out to where you live you could work something out. If not, the application process will be stringent.
