Too Hot For Solar Power: Europe's Heat Wave Makes Solar Panels Less Efficient
Texas Heatwave Highlights A Major Problem With Wind Power
So you’re telling me, that because of climate change the earth is getting hotter. But when hotter temps occur, the renewables supposed to save us actually suck more dick?
This is becoming peak clown world
quote:
During very high temperatures, a very high number of the electrons on the solar panel are excited, which reduces the generated voltage and the panel's efficiency. Hot weather could reduce the efficiency of solar panels by between 10 percent and 25 percent, according to U.S. solar equipment distributor CED Greentech.
quote:
"It may seem counter-intuitive, but solar panel efficiency is affected negatively by temperature increases. Photovoltaic modules are tested at a temperature of 25 degrees C (STC) – about 77 degrees F., and depending on their installed location, heat can reduce output efficiency by 10-25%. As the temperature of the solar panel increases, its output current increases exponentially, while the voltage output is reduced linearly," CED Greentech notes.
Texas Heatwave Highlights A Major Problem With Wind Power
quote:
Bloomberg reported this week that wind turbines in Texas are operating at just 8 percent of their capacity because of low wind speeds.
quote:
It is a well-documented relationship between high-pressure weather systems that push temperatures up, at the same time sapping wind speeds. It is also quite an inconvenient relationship for wind power in the summer. The problem becomes more serious when it’s not just a transitory high-pressure system that affects wind speeds. Last year in central and northwestern Europe, average wind speeds were assessed to have been about a tenth lower in some parts throughout the year. Other parts of Europe saw stronger than normal winds and that was good for them but, again, unfortunately, wind cannot be ordered on demand.
So you’re telling me, that because of climate change the earth is getting hotter. But when hotter temps occur, the renewables supposed to save us actually suck more dick?

I’m calling it now. More people will die from “climate change” solutions over the next 10 years than would have without the “solutions” forced upon us.

So you are saying that solar panels are not a good idea along the Gulf Coast? I haven't measured it but I can guarantee my roof is hotter than 77 degrees F during the daytime. Probably around 150 degrees F at peak sun.

A nuclear reactor on a supercarrier could power a city of 100,000 for a year
And yet here we are
Absolute retardation over a power source that has killed essentially nobody ever

Not many will die from heat waves, but cold snaps? Oh boy.

If you believe this you are an idiot. Literally some of the hottest places in the country have the most solar panels… and it’s for a reason you dumbass. Lol oil and gas corporate Schill here, just look at his handle

You have people like AOC making decisions for our energy future. Yes, total retardation.

who is the dumbass?
panel efficiency vs temp1
white paper on efficiency
you make the most power in the winter,
colder, and the sun is more direct

To the dumbasses who downvoted me, what is your response to the fact that Texas Florida California and Arizona are some of the hottest states in the country and yet have the most solar panels? Are these million dollar companies just throwing away cash and investing badly by putting their efforts into areas that would be problematic to efficiently produce energy? Or are y’all just dumb fricks? Which one?

I can post a graph that might lead you to believe global warming is a real threat… would that make it real though?
Once again, dumbasses.

Lol omg… now all of a sudden msn is a reliable source because they published something negative about renewables. Make up your minds people… lol

You seem very angry.
Might be time to step away from the internet for a few minutes.

Its not just her
This country went into retardville after the Three Mile Incident
An incident in which absolutely zero people died
We could have had the entire country running on unlimited power by now with less downside than a weekend in the ghetto.

Solar modules are more efficient and produce more per hour in the winter, but still produce more gross wattage per day in the summer due to increased irradiance. Also it's really important to understand the difference between ambient and module temp. I rarely see over 85 degrees on my array as monitored by the inverter even with the temp is 105 ouside.
